I've been trying to play with a friend on RA3, but whenever I host a game, and we attempt to start it, its states that connections are in progress 1-2.

I have not have this problem with two others I've played with. Whenever the friend is in a lobby with those two, the connection is fine, but when I join the game, or he joins the game with them, the same connections are in progress text is displayed.

I have ran through everything, disabling firewalls, looking at forums, port forwarding, using vpns. I am pretty much beat, and I was curious if any of you have the solution to this problem, and have experienced it. if so, I appreciate it.

Thanks!

Hi cjbogusz,

I had similar problems with my friend, cause I didn't have the special map we tried to play. If you want to play a standard map and it doesn't work, I don't know what to do.

My solution for playing a special map: I downloaded the map and put it in the folder "Maps", which the game will automatically create. It is important that you don't create it yourself cause then, the game won't accept it.

Normally, you don't see the folder "Maps" cause the folder are invisible.

So, what to do....

Step by step:

1.) Download the map you want to play

2.) Open any folder-> "view"->"options"->"change folder- and searching options"->"view"-> select "Show hidden files and folders"->"save". Now, the folder "Maps" will be visible.

3.) Go to: C:\Users\Your User Account\AppData\Roaming\Red Alert 3\Maps.

4.) Copy your special map-folder into the "Maps"-folder.

5.) Start the game and you will see your special map in the list of the other maps.

Good luck;-)!
