So I decided to play through BEL again for the first time in a c couple years, and i'm currently at mission 19, i've always wondered has anybody ever found a use for the light railroad truck in mission 19 frustrate retaliation? I can't seem to find one, only 1 man can use it at a time and it's pretty much impossible to use without taking damage from the bunker and the tank, it seems pretty pointless to me. i've never seen a video where someone uses this instead of just crawling across the bridge.

I could imagine that the designers wanted to have some unique features in every mission (like the cable car and the telephone in Blind Justice).
In Frustrate Retaliation those were the conveyor belt, the dogs and the mine trolley. When the mission evolved, the developers probably realized that the mine cart couldn't be used like intended (maybe the initial design was that you could hide inside or maybe the machine gun couldn't harm you). But since it was working (kind of), they just left it in the game.
