Generals zero Hour the First Decade - game is a different version

Hi I have just installed Generals Zero Hour on my windows 10 laptop, it seems  to run ok but I cannot connect to other online users via C&C online - it says the the game is a different version.

I have installed Gentools

The game comes prepatched to the latest patch

I have uninistalled the online launcher.

Has anyone managed to make this work so that I can play against players who have downloaded it from Origin?

I'm having the same issue... trying to figure out if there's any fix. Have you found a solution?
