I am SO excited I found this site. I've missed BFME2 so hard, and was glad this community kept it going.

I've followed (I thought) the instructions on installing BFME2, the patches, and Options file and ISO. When I launch the game, it just sits at the load screen image and eventually closes out, or I have to force close it. I'm clearly doing something wrong. I'm sure this question has been asked a good number of times, but I've searched the forum and don't know if my issue is the same as the others since I'm not computer savvy as I was in the past.

Is there anything new that is not included in the installation instructions that could be causing this? Or can point me in the right direction of a help topic? I will buy you lunch if someone can help. :D

You do the screen resolution portion? That fixed my opening issues.

I am right there with you as well, followed all of the instructions to the T and I cannot get past the loading screen. It freezes and then crashes. I'll continue checking this thread to see if anyone posts any tips.

Windows 10 version!

I am experiencing the exact same problems as you, @Kleimax (and OP). Windows 10, clicks the icon to launch the game, the green square where all the devs are thanked shows up, buffering, buffering, nothing happens / I have to end the process.
So, Bump, I guess!

Hey, there's two times I've resolved this in the past:

1) While the loading screen is coming on, constantly click on the screen as fast as you can!!!! Idk why this does anything lmao, but it definitely worked every time for one computer's set up.

2) Do you know if you have more than one graphics card? Sometimes your hard ware comes with a built in/integrated graphics card, AND you can have a separate, more powerful graphics card.
In the event that you do have two cards, you probably need to manually set the game to use the more powerful card.

Uhmm.. I forget the exact steps for that off the top of my head. Something like either:

A) just right click the game icon and select "run with nvidia" or something (like if you had an nvidia brand graphics card).
B) again with nvidia, open the "Nvidia Control Panel", in the left menu click "manage 3d settings", then in the settings that open up select the "program settings" tab, and like... add BFME or something?

Lol, sorry it's not super clear instructions, but first we need to find out if the graphics card thing is even a potential issue. So, uhh, maybe just search online how to do that and get back to me.
