Unable to connect to other players c&c generals zero hour

Using ultimate collection on origin. command and conquer zero hour 

just after starting an online game myself and friend get the error code - Unabe to connect to other player(s)

no problem logging in joining games etc its just after  starting games 

using windows 8.1

when i used the diagnostic tool it said success

3 pings were succesful, nat negotiation works and port forwarding was not reqiured

I have followed a few other guides with nothing working 

any help appreciated 

Hey, I am having the same problem. I am not able to connect to other players. I finally figured it out and I was able to get online only to not be able to connect to other players. I have the latest gentool and my firewall is off when I play the game. I have the game through origin.

If anyone can help me out, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.

HI, trying to play cnc zero hour. when i click on online a window pops and says checking for updates and locks up the system. Please if anyone has a fix or can directing to play online I would much appreciated.
