Additional manpower is needed here and I have tried to recruit people in the Russian KW Discord to help us. Not a single KW player wanted to help.

You could apply for a position here and help out other users who encounter issues. As I said, we tried to to recruit new members but not a single KW player wanted to help.

For your issue have you tried windows compatibly mode service pack 2?

Issue Status: Issue resolved in PM's by Medstar

Documentation of Support Ticket for Future Reference:

 

Game: Kane's Wrath

Issue: Game freezes for ~5 minutes when selecting the "Online" button

 

First-Look Notes on Issue:

1) This is most likely due to an improper hooking of the game with the C&C:Online client

 

Second-Look Notes on Issue:

1) User allowed me remote access to their PC via the Chrome Remote Desktop extension.

2) The C&C:Online client said that the game was hooked (check mark for game under the "Hook" tab was present)

3) User was prompted by the IFEO, but the game still wouldn't connect online

4) "First-Look Notes on Issue" assumption is correct; possible errors:

      4a) Something is blocking the client from hooking into the game

      4b) Something is either being blocked or is missing from the registry

 

Noted issues when helping user:
1) User had a missing registry key for the IFEO hooking process; assumption B in "Second-Look Notes on Issue" is correct

2) User had a faulty C&C:Online installation

3) User had ANOTHER C&C:Online installation on a separate drive (possible issues concerning that).

4) "cnconline.exe" was not set to always run as administrator

5) "CNC3EP1.exe" was not set to always run as administrator and was not set to run in compatibility mode for Windows XP SP3

 

Solution Steps:

1) Had user run a .reg file that added in the needed key + Debugger value (attached below for reference)

2) Had user unhook game and uninstall their C&C:Online client, and had them delete the duplicate installation directory

3) Had user reinstall C&C:Online through the 2.0.7 MSI file

4) Had user rehook game

5) Had user restart their PC

6) Ensured that Debugger value for IFEO was present and set to the correct location of "cnconline.exe" (hooking successful)

7) Had user set  "cnconline.exe" to always run as administrator

8) Had user set "CNC3EP1.exe" to always run as administrator and to run in compatibility mode for Windows XP SP3

9) Had user launch the game DIRECTLY from the game's shortcut, then select the Kane's Wrath option in the C&C:Online launcher when it appeared

 

Final Words:

User was successfully able to log in and play a match with a random user online. Gameplay was monitored for any other connectivity issues during match.

 

ISSUE RESOLVED; NO FURTHER ACTION REQUIRED
