I think the cause of the lag playing against the computer.
At first we were all teaming up against the computer (6v2) to "dust off the cob webs" (i.e re-learn the game) on 8 player maps, but seems to be too much for the game to handle, especially against a couple hards.
We successfully played many 3v3 or 2v2v2 or free for all games without lag and had a blast!

Does anyone know of a fix for the game lag/freezing every 5 seconds issue with 3v3 or 4v4 custom matches, or Is it just a limitation of it being a 18year old game?
Things we've tried:
-Setting the replay folder to read-only
-lowered the graphic in the custom settings
The game works, we can all connect but the lag is just unplayable.
help!

if you are palying online bad internet can cause massive lags or your pc is just too weak (which would be weird) in the gentool intro message you can tweak up the fps cap that might help but i dont think it would do much the lags are probably caused from bad internet maybe setting the game into compatability mode for windows xp service pack 3 or 2 might work
