Can't join games even with the latest patch.

Hi guys, 

I have the original disks and a key for BFME II. I installed it, downloaded the patch switcher, and went to 1.09 v2. I can log into the online servers and everything but cannot join games even though I'm running the latest patch with a legit copy. When I join it says that the host is running a different version even though I can see that they're also running 1.09 v2. 

Any ideas?

have you tried making sure the single player box is unchecked on the patch switcher
