I would like to announce that France is going to be added to D-day as a fully playable seventh side. Planing for them has been going on & off for many months behind closed doors but now everything is finished & I am ready to start making the Gfx for their units. :blush:

I will post the unit list on the site soon & maybe some unit pics over the next few days...

That's great Mig, but I hope you have 100% finished all six sides before working on France. But the more sides, the merrier! :blush:

Mig knows what hes doing, dont worry
Natus 3.4

Corrupt program now requires constant reboots and does not function at all in majority of instances. Designed with a web browser component to replace AOL, it has exceeded our expectations by being more crashy and unreliable and with worse tech support. We didn't think it was physically possible! A general product recall is advised; when it does function it seems to require background processes Girl 0.1Beta to stave off further crashes. Will someone PLEASE remove that code, and insert Backbone 1.9 in its place? That's assuming we even bother to continue this prog.

Just kinda curious Mig, why France? To be honest, I'm not implying any French jokes or the likes of it, just an honest question. :)
I mean no disrespect, so why France?

Any thought of Canada or the ANZACs (Australia and New Zealand)?

I'm guessing that France has real different and distinctive units compared to US and UK, so that makes them real unique from the Allies, right? ;)

France deserves to be in as an independant side.

* Pretty decent navy
* Pretty decent aircraft (not counting the bombers) in 1940
* French armor would have beaten Italian/Japanese armor throughout the war..
* Pretty decent infantry/arty.

Overall France is a pretty decent side.

Also Canada will be a SP side and the ANZACs were integrated into the british forces.

This program, though reasonably normal at times, seems to have a strong affinity to classes belonging to the Cat 2.0 program. Andre 2.7 will break down on occasion, resulting in garbage and nonsense messages whenever it occurs. Usually a hard reboot or pulling the plug solves the problem when that happens.

They should have the mangilot (sp?) line buildable.. and all you can do is place it and not use it ;).. that was a really worthless defence :).. Also will the french have freedom fighters.. so some guerilla units?

That's the "Maginot-line" and that was actually a formidable defense, not unlike the German Westwall.

The whole problem was that the germans had a mobile war in mind and not another batch of Trench warfare.

As for those freedom fighter.. we're sticking the the regular army, which the maquis/ communist resistance were not a part of.

Ok, fair enough. ;)

I'd love to see the Aussies with their slouch hats on if possible, very disticntive. :)

when we (phil and me) had the idea to make blitz npc-sides playable in multiplayer/skirmish

any news on the unit list ?
I think TanksRus posted his ideas on a site a long time ago and there were some good ones , like a 150mm self propelled assault gun if I remember correctly. :grin:

TankRUs posted his ideas for Canada, not France :grin:

It's the popups creating the lagg. When using Firefox you don't have any difficulties.
