I always thought FF Did nothing, but the Disruptor could destroy it...

I personally think you should keep units realistic with a small bib to identify which faction owns it. A big, bright, yellow blob for a bib will spoil the Generals game engine. Use the engine to your advantage. It's really effective visually. I understand you want to recreate TD but the units don't need to be covered in a bright color.

I think the the graphics should be bigger, more detailed and the camera is able to zoom closer snd farther from the battlefield

it should be CNC TD. No TS elements so it is bacically a transfer to the GENZH engine.

We understand its rather a hot topic, and we haven't made a final desicion yet. We háve decided to try the TD way first. If that doesn't works, we could always change the skins. But i am only repeating myself now, i've said this before :p

tell ya what. Just an idea I dreamed up. Why not have the logos on vehicles show the team colours? if you make a black and white logo textures (GDI & Nod logos) and apply them to small faces on the vehicles and make them the HOUSECOLOR objects, the detail of the logo (in black) will show thru the team colour.

Anyways, just an idea.

Thats a nice idea, but the units in TD doesn't have team logos on them.
You also have to consider what the right size of the logo is without making it too small/big.

ok, maybe have a faded colour logo under the units, a bit like what blitz has done with their team colours...

ok, I'm comming up with ideas for a mod I'm not in!! tell me to shut up! :p

Will the mammoth Mk II be in the mod??

It would be so cool if you could get it in and give it all its rightful weapons.

I remember a video whilst i was playing TS which showed the mammoth, and from it i reckon it should have duel independant rail guns and a brutal machine gun.

I can imagine it now, imagine the fun trampling through towns and blasting everything to bits. Hmm its weakness could be air since it was always pretty bad at taking down aircraft.

C&C Tiberian Dawn is the best game made ever :)

If you are going to make/remake a C&C TD campaign, you may want to ask RVMech for his Gold Bland missions. Those maps have normal Gnerlas units but with the lay out of a GDI mission in mind; you can ask him for permission and then put you mod's units in it and a mission will be done. Save your team a lot of time and RVMech is known to be a good mapper too.

The answer is yes, they plan to remake the TD campaigns, and perhaps even some covert ops missiongs :shifty:

I'm not digging the full color skin of the units, I don't know if this is permenant or not, but I would like to see better detailed units, you have this powerful gaming machine at your disposal, why not use it to its full extent? Highly detailed models would look really good in a 3d environment. Like Renegade, do you know how dull it would have been to have all the vehicles one solid color? I think the one color units is a bit 19th century. :min:

In Tiberian Dawn units color are Full House( GDI Vehicles are full Yellow and when i capture Nod Airstrip Light tanks and other Nod Vehicles stay FULL Yellow)
my opinion is All Vehicles is Full house Color (if House is Blue all vehicles are Blue...)and insert GDI and Nod Logos in vehicles...

have you guys seen the screenshots, there are some detail, but the majority of it is housecolor, It looks good too (in my opinion)

nice mod going there :p

however it's best to stick with actual TD look of stuff as Renegade is not that accurate...adv guard tower being best example.. from nice and smooth model of original it turned into boxy tower when original had more rounded shape, SSM also looks different -_-

however full house colors is kinda old thing... going with the current tank color define house owning them is much better imho and maybe add logos to the sides just not stamped too many times :p

anyway if need cameos from C&C 95 etc.. or hitpoint details of original units etc just gimme a shout ;)2

otherwise keep up the nice work. ;)

Hello, I am new here and I REALLY wanted to mod C&C Generals, but I can't see how. I have the following in mod tools:


CSF Editor
Finalbig
dds(whatever it is)
Modselectorbeta2
W3dgmax
W3d importer 1 & 2

If someone could PLEASE tell me what tools are needed and what they are for, I would highly appreciate it. Just make another post here!
PS: I really like the Second Dawn idea, and have played C&C Tiberian Sun, but not Dawn; however I gather they are somewhat equal. If i can get some GOOD modding tools, i would like to help make it.
