High Poly, but extremely cool... all you need to do is texture it or whatever, and it'll look as real as it possibly can...

I'm blown away...

depends on talent. It could sometimes take someone only 2 to 3 days to make a very high detailed high high poly tank. but thats only because of contract issues and they have to get it done or they lose their client. But 3 weeks is the norm maybe sometimes longer. Thats usually how long stuff takes me but thats only cause I work with the model an hour out of the day. so techincally if you add up the hours it only comes up to 21...LOL..not even day so go figure..

You must be pretty good, it takes me about a week (comulatively) to make a very high detail model.

I dont consider myself good. I consider myself average. But ive never actually completed a high poly model in exactly a day. That would mean sitting in front of the comp for 24 hours straight. I just couldnt do that..lol

What kind of level of detail are we talking about here?

EDIT:This is what I consider a high detail model (it's not finished if you're wondering), that took me a about a week in total to make it like that, which is two months (I have two mods I'm working on + real life things), and it's still not finished.

And I don't consider myself average, if there's a scale from 1-100 for 3d skills, I'm about 10-15.

Ahh dude. I was never questioning your modeling skills man. And yes I consider that a high detail model as well. Yeah It does take awhile to make high detail models, but if you take in to facter the actual time you work on it, hour wise, the most would be around 2 to 3 weeks. sometimes less...sometimes more. Oh and by the way nice model ya got going there.

I was also wondering what 3d forums you visit, cgtalk, threedy, etc...? That is if you do.

By the way, heres to give you an idea of how somewhat fast I work. From what you see now Ive been working on for 5 days, and hour outa each day so far, sometimes less. Not the best model but Ive only been modeling for maybe a year.
