Only War 2
A Warhammer 40k Total Conversion for Empire at War

We are today announcing Only War 2 which will be a Total Conversion for the new upcoming Petroglyph Real-Time Strategy game Empire At War. We feel that this will give many more opportunities and also give more flexibility to create a much more fun and impressive Warhammer 40k mod.

Only War 2 will include space battles, ground combat and planetary assaults.
The three first Factions will be; the mystical metal skeletons known as the Necrons, the elite Space marines and of course the Imperial Guard.

We will of course continue our work on Generals 40k: Only War for now, however we cannot promise that we will be able to keep working on two mods in the future when EaW is released.

when you say impirial gaurd, will you be using the impirual navy for the space craft?

I'd be willing to learn how to model/enslave some people to do it for me to get the big huge battleships into the mod :cool:

Well possibly the main part of modding is doing the artwork for the mod. We can sort out all the models/textures/2d things before the game comes out, as well as having a well planned and thought out mod.

What about in Generals? Will you still work on it when EaW comes out or will be dead?

we will continue working on Only War until EAW comes out... then probably work to get the mod at a nice stable fully playable level, then leave it at that and concentrate entirely on Only War 2

We may as well devote ourselves to Only War 2 as it's probably got cooler explosionses and MORE DAKKKA!!! WAGGGHHHHHH

which software have you used to render the models?

are there specific software needed to model them so you can use them in the mod?

We're using 3ds max, there should be exporters released for it so we can use the models in EaW.

Would a model rendered with another sofware e.g. cinema 4d 9.5 be useless to you? Or would it be possible to convert it into a usefull model for the mod?

There should be a way to get it into 3ds max, by means of exporting and importing etc, and using scripts if neccessary. However, the poly count may or may not be an issue for its use in the mod.
