LOL, that'd be true enough, BUT for the fact that you're holding an SA-80. Instead of shooting me through the head, what would ACTUALLY have happened is:

Actually, not so.
That rifle is the A2. A very reliable and seriously accurate weapon.

However drop it in water and it rusts in the blink of an eye...

What makes you think that?
(for the record, ALL combat infantry units [including TA] are issued with SUSATs. My personal rifle has had one fitted since I passed phase 1)

Ok, lets stop protecting Xeno and flame each other in a 'meaningless' and 'grudgeless' way. I might join in... :)

Actually iron sights are perfectly ok, I've used them on the ACF ranges, fun with single shot SA-80, talk is soon that the Cadets will get a semi-auto version, doubt it seeing as how many times people have got a little too carried away......

I can shoot with a decent degree of accuracy without the ironsight. I never understood how it worked...but then I'd rather look down a lens-scope anyway. That or fire roughly where you are. I can hit quite accurately doing that, even with my off-hand (my right hand).

Yes. I'm not a good aimer with the ironsight, I know. But I can point and shoot.

And so this went offtopic :)
More offtopicness: my grandpa was in the army and he actually accidentally fired a gun. The sergeant (or well someone higher above, I don't remember his rank) had given it to my grandpa temporarily. However he forgot he had loaded the gun, and my grandpa didn't know. He tested the gun like he was learned to, except this one was loaded. So.. he shot through the roof and got arrested. Luckily they got him out soon, because it wasn't his fault, he did what he was taught to do.[/off topic story]
Ok, that didn't make much sense of me to write..

When my stick drawing is finished, I might post it (it's not really related to Rev (yet), I have an idea about it though, but I don't know if it'll work out), but it'll depend on how it'll work out..

That's the kind of story that happens too often. Lucky no-one got hurt.
We're trained to do NSPs whenever we're given a weapon, a strict drill to make absolutely sure the weapon is unloaded and safe before continuing. It's thanks to the NSP drills that such accidents rarely happen.

I have to say two times in my life that I fired a gun stood out, one was fireing a .50 cal from the side of the US Navy ship I was deployed on on a target called "the big tomato" cause it's a floating airbag target to shoot at for practice.

If you ever fired a .50 cal you'll know it's VERY powerful. Hard to even aim the thing when your firing.

The other memorable time is when my step dad let me try his .44 magnum pistol at a target. Holy shit the thing kicks like a shotgun. There is no getting up after being hit by that bad puppy.
