If you use Gmax you never get a good view of it. Export it to w3d and look how it looks like in there.

Renx can't show the skin good. You've to render it or you've to export it to w3d (file>export>w3d). Then you can view it in w3d viewr

That's included with the Renx game pack. Go to start > programs > renegade tools > w3d viewer

weird, not showing the skin anymore. just whites and grays. also, the w3d files EA made have just westwood logos on them

You'll see your skin looks very different in the viewr. you can make the skin viewing better in renx by right click on your viewport where "top", "back", "perspective" etc is standing and then hit "texture correction"

lol at the filter...

I personally learned to skin myself because Chilliskinner sucks. It makes UVW Unwrapping WAY more difficult than doing it yourself... To learn to unwrap I read kanzkillas(hope I spelled it right bud) tutorial on skinning, then made a box tank (like 25 polies in total) and skined it... after I did that I had a feel for Unwraping, and I can now unwrap my own models.

Good luck

the skin has to be in the same directory as the w3d.

Adding a new General is easy, cuz the general is in fact just a side, you could probarly just add a new faction.. and call it a general, this should solve it, just follow a tutorial how to add a new Faction
