Dude, I wasn't being dramatic. I really did think that. I really think the original 'muzzle flash' was about a thousand times better looking.

Sorry, dude, but I did. I was going to tell you over MSN but I kinda forgot XD other concerns heh. Anyways, revert that back to the original 1.98 muzzle flash. You won't get that any better looking. In fact, that original muzzle flash looked fantastic and was perfect...the current projectile-throwing thing really does look wrong, not only for the FLH but for the weapon itself. It just doesn't suit it, dude.

I kind of agree, looks more like smoking cannon balls, then anti air.

Afaik balance issues is meant for the cannon balls but still I don't really like that. Omega thought maybe making the balls invisible.. In anyways flak should be instant-hit without a doubt.

Agree. It's not even so much the fact of the insta-hit. It's just that, graphically, it looks awful.

I'll agree with the above about the the league's AA weapon.

Divine intervention, hmm.

As far as I'm concerned, God smiles upon both mods.

Mental Omega is the best expansion mod I've ever played.

Robot Storm is the only total conversion I've played, but it's awesome.

There is no comparing the two mods to each. In their own fields, each rules.

Seriously, none of the others provide enough information about their mods or they weren't interesting.

I knew that there weren't many Total Conversions for YR, but I didn't know AR2 and RS were the ONLY ones... wow..

So what's this? AR2 is boring? I kill you!

You want my honest opinion on that, Vini?

I do wholly respect the AR2 team and what they've created and tried to create. The GFX? Great. The soundtrack and SFX? Also good. Gameplay? Unbalanced, and far, far, far too slow. And gameplay is the be-all-and-end-all.

I get bored waiting half an hour before I can mount anything like an effective assault as either side. Particularly Genesis. Whose attacks are next to worthless against either side...they're massively underpowered.

I dare not post such a thing at the AR2 homebase...it seems very closed and, hell, almost has an armed guard stalking.

You'll forgive my frankness, but that's my opinion. I do like AR2, but a rules tweak would make me love it like I used to a long, long time ago for a brief period.

Heh, heh. I just discovered a place to download Allies Revenge 2 and so I tried it out.

Good concept. BAAAAAAAAAD execution. I'll agree with Paradodx: the game is slow. With some revision it has a lot of potential. Until it is, I'm sending it to the recyle bin. *empties recycle bin*.

Okay, may I should have been nicer. The mod does need revision to be truly awesome. I'm going to wait for that.

In the mean time, I'm going to figure out how to beat 2 brutal Robot Storm AI.

@ Paradox: I appreciate your input. To be honest, AR2 version 5.0 is not even that great to play. I agree, it does lag a lot and it is very unbalanced. In fact, Chrono released version 5.0 without even testing much, giving rise to new IEs. Also the AI is utterly useless. This is why I'll tell you a secret: Version 6.0 will be much much better!

However, I don't know about this "armed guard" at the AR2 forums. Everyone is free to post there. The only thing that we don't like is people coming in and telling us to add fifty new units and defense structures. The units that are currently in the game are pretty locked in.

Heh, heh. I forgot to actually do this. Maybe I'll play it ocasionally.

BTW this is Robot Storm forum, not allies revenge 2 forum.

We're very off topic here.

BTW, Paradox, Apollo, I've been updating my last post in the 1.99 released topic with some thoughts of mine. Have you looked?

I will check... And the thread went off-topic on its own. It's called 'topic evolution', which is ok.

Vinifera, does Chrono still work on the mod? I heard there was, like, a coup over at Dere a few months ago? In fact, last I heard he was banned over there...

1) Chrono does not work on AR2 anymore, but still occasionally contributes/clarifies conceptual ideas.
2) There wasn't a coup d'etat, Chrono simply decided that he was tired of the YR engine. At that point, gamemate took over lead ini coding for a while. Now the mod is in the care of tmapm and myself.
3) As far as I know Chrono was never banned. However Acid WAS banned, for stupid reasons I might add, and re-registered using a different alias.

Eh, old topic I know. Sorry. :(

I just need to say that my opinion of AR2 has been reassed. After playing a few more times, I have come to the conclusion that my lack of skills was the problem. I still lack the skills to successfully balance an early game economy. But this mod is actually quite fun. Looking forward to next release.
