The point is Ali, that they won't be extinct then. Wiped from existence. That they have a chance to live their lives.

The definition of extinction if the complete removal of that species from the entire World, there are plenty more of these frogs in other parts of the World.

That was missaid or misread somewhere then. Either way, they do deserve a life unless there really is no other way.

The thing is, would you really like to hand this amphibian plague off to someone else, or get them put upon yourself? I know I wouldn't. The only way that is efficient in cost and time is to kill them. The cost factor is the big one.

When history witnesses a great change Razgriz reveals itself,
first as a dark demon. As a demon it uses it power to rain death upon the land,
and then it dies. However after a period of slumber Razgriz returns
As the demon sleeps, man turns on man.
Its own blood, and madness soon cover the earth.
From the depths of despair awaken the Razgriz.
Its raven wings ablaze in majestic light.
Amidst the eternal waves of time
From a ripple of change shall the storm rise
Out of the abyss peer the eyes of a demon
Behold the Razgriz, its wings of black sheath
The demon soars through the dark skies
Fear and Death trail its shadow beneath
Until Men united wield a hallowed sabre
In Final Reckoning, the beast is slain.

Of course, some humans put money highly above life.

Sadly, that happens to be the majority of government officials in the world.

Of course I put money above a frog's life! Think about that for minute, would you pay 10 bucks for one of those frogs to live?

10 dollars, oh boy am I gonna lose sleep over that.

No matter how much money you have, you won't be able to get the life of a friend back that way.

I just don't agree with this 'kill without thinking first' attitude that's all. Nor do I agree with the 'animals have no rights whatsoever' attitude.

Ammo is cheap now, $10 worth of 9mm could kill 10 frogs!

Whoa, then for 10 dollars I could also kill a human being such as thyself. But I would never ever do such a thing because it's plain wrong to do. And no money in the world can ever get the diseased one back.

The removal of over populated species such as poisonous frogs is not a crime against the earth. It's a solution to a problem. If you have termites you call an exterminator.

Please don't tell me you want to "save" the frogs? They are freakin' frogs blaat... ^_^

Depends what you call a crime. I've never had termites, so I cannot judge on that one really. Every spider whom happens to be found at rooms where you don't want them, can get a single ticket to outside here, not to death. Same for the birds who fly inside the house here. We don't kill them, we bring them back outside. Hmm that said, spiders or birds don't do much harm to your house though. When we found this (rather empty, deep) well in our garden, I saved those frogs and toads who had accidentally fallen in themselves and couldn't get out anymore. I remember I carried them to our little lakey with my own hands (first time ever holding such creatures in my hands), I think we actually got a few of them on videotape even lol.

I just don't believe in this 'animals have no rights' attitude, in the way some people bring it. That doesn't mean I wouldn't kill an animal if it was neccesary. But I don't believe in the thought that humans would be so much 'better' at all times.

Humans are the dominate species on the planet, we can eat what ever we want, these frogs kill everything they are a threat to Australias natural ecosystem its very damaging if it starts killing native creatures that are rare.

So, you're quite happy for the Australian's natural ecosystem and natural equilibrium to be completely destroyed for the sake of a moral qualm about a few toads?

I didn't say that. You never heard me say the frogs should stay where they are. Nor where they "a few". I just said that it should be tried to find a more peaceful solution, instead of everyone saying 'ZOMG kill them' (exaggarated rephrased here).

Well, until someone can think of a practical solution to removing 100million toads that doesn't involve killing them, that's the solution that will be used.

The frogs have far more potential for causing damage than damage could be dealt to them. Its not just extermination of 10,000,000, its presevation of 100,000,000.
And the ones being saved aren't ugly ugly posionus ----s.
Anyway, they don't go south, so ^_^

Agreed, but none of you actually did, did you? All that people were saying here was 'KILL KILL', without giving it another thought or so it seemed anyway.

1. Animals have rights, too. I *could* say the same about some humans. Difference is I don't do such things.
2. Wouldn't be much of a discussion if we call agreed, no?
3. Reread my previous posts. Catch them and bring them to a place where they can be of no harm, for example.
