Go Team Science! Defeat the mysticism and heresy once and for all! (Because you're all nuts!)

Oddly I actually paused my normal routine to simply take a moment to think about how one must feel to think that death is the end. I love science as much as the next. I assume logic with science as much as the next.

Go team science...Defeat the mysticism and heresy once and for all! (Because you're all nuts!)

Sadly this individual will go to his grave and face nothing. Simply because he believes in nothing. Which means there is nothing. He is simply an organsism which grows and dies. Maybe reproduces, which is unlikely. Because no female specimen would want to reproduce with such a weak organism.

Female specimens want to be with males of strong stature. Not a failing organism. MSpencers genes will probally not carry on to the next generation. :(

I will not argue with veiled insults and pretentious statements, instead I will tell you exactly what happens when you die.
When you die, your heart stops. This absolutely ceases the vital flow of oxygen and nutrients through the blood stream and to all the cells in your body (Almost). They will then suffocate and die individually, while other organs will shut down together such as the lungs, the liver, the kidneys, and inevitably, the brain. At the moment of death, your brain will still be alive for a good fifteen seconds while your heart has stopped. After your brain cells die, so does your personality, which was simply created as an imprintation upon your brain of your experiences, upbringing, and some genetic predispositions, giving you an overall attitude, and, personality. From there, you will simply be a corpse. All the heat which has been retained in your body by living mechanisms will radiate out into the environment, and parasites will begin to run rampant. Fungi will begin decomposing your skin, while bacteria and some protists begin eating away at your insides. If you're really lucky, you'll get insects living in you, and they'll make a nice home out of you within 12 hours of your death. If you were murdered, you might have a forensic entemologist rip you apart and find out how you died based on what bugs are living in you.
Within two days, gases will begin building up from certain compounds which are inherently instable, and require enzymatic action to be converted into a stable form. Since you're dead, and your cells have been either lysed by bacteria and viruses, or turned into unstable environments with dead enzymes, these compounds will eventually build up and then start breaking down, much like a glass of champagne left on a counter for about 10 hours. Some metabolic pathways will continue after death, digesting some compounds and applying them to new compounds, but you'll definitely still be dead.
Within two weeks, if nobody finds you, the gas buildup will become too much, and you will literally explode. After bloating for a while, finally the skin will begin to tear, and then it will just POP, and all the gas will be released along with all your bodily fluids and organs.
If that's going to heaven, I wonder what hell would be like...

Yes, I believe in science, because I know what happens to the body when we die, I know what happens when we're born, and I know what happens during our life. None of it is connected to any spiritual beings, and a lot of it is hardly fair. Couple that with the fact that, in science, we can prove things, and in religion, you have to take the word of the rich old white guys from 30 AD, I think science will win every time.
And I'm proud of it.

I'm intrigued why Hostile thinks 'death is the end' hypothesis is such a bad thing? It gives the incentive to not waste one's life, as one is a long time fucking dead. As opposed to saying: "Meh I don't have to worry about anything because when I die there's a whole NOTHER life to enjoy?"

However I must also note hypocrisy on the part of Hostile, who berates both myself and Ali for flaming probably the most deserving person to grace these boards in quite a long time, and then proceeds to make scathing remarks against Spencer for absolutely no reason whatsoever.
Let me quote you a Bible verse: Let he who is without sin cast the first motherfuckin' stone.
In English: If you're going to bollock me, don't go doing what you bollocked me for in the first place. I will notice.

More to the point, MSpencer's sex life doesn't have a great deal to do with death or the afterlife.

So yes. To clarify, Spence's atheist rendition of death and the 'after-life' speakst sooth, while Hostile just decided to be a flamy git who fancied sticking a rather unfunny knife in, only a week after he had the gall, audacity, bare-faced cheek and affrontery to chastise me for lobbing an insult or two at Mozilla.

End o' story.

Anyway. Yes, there are things which cannot yet be explained. Though I expect in a few years/decades we will work 'em out.

Three hundred years ago, if you said we'd be travelling everywhere in machines which could seat four, didn't require a horse and that we'd have a means to communicate with any other living soul on the planet in a matter of seconds, he'd probably crucify you. Now look.

ARGUMENT FROM CREATION, a.k.a. ARGUMENT FROM PERSONAL INCREDULITY (I)
(1) If evolution is false, then creationism is true, and therefore God exists.
(2) Evolution can't be true, since I lack the mental capacity to understand it; moreover, to accept its truth would cause me to be uncomfortable.
(3) Therefore, God exists.

Paradox that was a misquotation :p (that kind of language is never used in the Bible) and the point of that story was that sometimes (but not always) it is better to forgive.

Are there any other Christians on this sight?

Stop giving Christians a bad name.

And to the rest of you: do you really think you're funny?
MSpencer: Do something more productive with your time than spout of bouts of nonsense. For your proclamation of understanding in science, your general sweeping statement regarding religion, and I presume the Christian faith, was hardly factual or objective. So what are you really proud of? Your self-righteous arrogance? Or your blind faith?

What was a misquotation? I don't believe I ever quoted you once. The only person I quoted was Hostile's cheap dig at Spencer.

I know the Bible wouldn't use the word 'motherfuckin'', but pissed off as I was with the argument to which I was referring by the quote, I felt it was a rather unique and appropriate extraphrasing :p

However, to be misquoted is not to add or take words from the quotation, but to misinterpret the meaning of the quote and twist it. Which I didn't do. I used the quote exactly as it was meant. :)

You'd make a really bad Christian Ash, you actually explore the context and meaning of the bible rather than play along with some shite some guy in a dodgy bathrobe tells you and practice it word for word rather than allowing for alternatives, such as reality, and dwelling on the positive messages and guidelines it sets.
