Collection and Processing of Personal Data

To the extent we process personal data, we do so subject to the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP).

Categories of personal data collected
We collect the personal data that you provide to us by submitting it to our websites and services (which may include your name or email address), for example when registering an account on the Revora Forums. You do not need to submit personal data to register accounts on our websites and we encourage you not to do so (e.g., by using an email address that does not allow us or third parties to identify you).
Many account or profile fields of our services are visible to the public, such as usernames, display names, profiles, signatures, etc. and you acknowledge that you may make your personal data generally accessible if you enter your personal data for those fields (art. 30(3) FADP).

In limited other circumstances, we may receive your personal data from third parties. For example, we may receive your name, address and personal email address if you make a donation through PayPal.

Purpose of processing (art. 19(2)(b) FADP)
We process your personal data to operate and improve the services we offer, such as the Revora Forums and C&C:Online, and to comply with legal requirements.

Technical Data
We maintain and analyse technical data in connection with your use of our services, including log files of all requests made to our servers. Log files do not store personal data but do capture your IP address and other technical data (e.g., date and time of your visit, browser and operating system used, language settings), which are automatically recognised by our servers.

Cookies and Tracking
We use "cookies" and similar techniques on our websites, which allow for an identification of your browser or device. A cookie is a small text file that is sent to your computer and automatically saved by the web browser on your computer or mobile device, when you visit our websites. If you revisit our websites, we may recognize you, even if we do not know your identity. Besides cookies that are only used during a session and deleted after your visit of the website ("session cookies"), we may use cookies in order to save user configurations and other information for a certain time period ("permanent cookies"). You may configure your browser settings in a way that it rejects cookies, only saves tem for one session or deletes them prematurely. Most browsers are preset to accept cookies. We use permanent cookies for the purpose of saving user configuration. Certain cookies are sent to you from us, others from third parties with which we collaborate. If you block cookies, it is possible that certain functions are no longer available to you.

We use Google Analytics, Google Adsense and similar services on our websites. These are services provided by third parties (which may be located in any country worldwide) and which allow us to measure and evaluate the use of our websites or to display advertising on our websites without disclosing your personal data. For this purpose, permanent cookies are used, which are set by the respective service provider.

Social Media Plug-Ins
We use plug-ins from certain social networks such as Facebook and Youtube on our websites. This is visible for you (typically based on the respective symbols). If you activate them (by clicking on them), the operators of the respective social networks may record that you are on our websites and where on our websites you are exactly and may use this information for their own purposes. This processing of your personal data is in the responsibility of the respective operator and occurs according to its own privacy policies.
