In this topic from now on I will post all my finished or being worked on projects that I want to show you.

For now, I will start with my dagorlad reskin, Mirkwood mountains.

The map haven't got major changes, except for a river added on it ( doesnt affects balance, you can pass it anywhere and you can build on it) and the replaced drake lairs with troll lairs.

Unlike the EA's mirkwood map, this one is brighter and doesn't have that many spider webs. The map tries to create the feeling of mirkwood after smaug died, less evil (as we found out in the book).

This map took a considerable amount of time to reskin, because those textures used dont blend that well together, it required a lot of single tile blending.

Also the map haves around 200 less objects than original dagorlad, making it better for online playing ( less lag)

Note: The west side of the map remains almost like EA's dagorlad, because i felt it looks good.

Some screenshoots:

mirk ss1.JPG

PS: this one is brighter and less blue because i changed the light slightly, this one is the final brightness of the map

Hope you will enjoy it when I will release it, I only have to fix some minor issues, like the river on minimap.

Agreed, you've done a splendid job with the re-terraining. =D

The new ringwars it's here!

---------------------------------------
:RINGARS: v1.3                         ringwars.JPG
---------------------------------------
Do you wanna know what's ringwars?
Ringwars it's a fun multiplayer map that combines the depth of micro from normal games with the arcade and arena gameplay.
The map is simple to understand yet with a lot of options:
You start the game with your fortress on a hill; there are 4 hills in the corners of the map, for each player. Near your fortress it's a waterfall and an armory, you'll see them as soon as you start playing the map in the cinematic intro. If you click on the waterfall, you will notice a huge list (30+) of units that can be bought from there. Once you have purchased one, it will endlessly spawn in the front of your base each few seconds (depending on how strong it is).....

Well, maybe you will ask me: How do we gain money? We only have the fortress and the builders can only build statues and wells!

It's simple! You have to fight to gain money. Remember, always the first thing you do after the generic intro is done, is to purchase the power scavenger from the spellbook! There is no other way to quickly gain money but killing enemies.

You will ask me: What do I need to do on this map?

Well, this map can be played both as 2v2 or FFA, but the goal is the same: kill the enemy's fortress! - this may sound easy, but since there is only a narrow ramp to their base and their units spawn at the end of it, it won't be so easy.

The heroes! What good custom map doesn't have unique heroes? You will find out...

The map has a limit on how many units you can have at a time, so don't expect that your PCs will go insane (even though if all 4 player have full CP, it will lag so it's recommended to fight often so you don't create lag with too many units)

You will ask again: What is with those neutral heroes on black floorpads in my courtyard?

Well, on the floorpad is written a number: If you have that many resources (in thousands), you can walk with an unit over that floorpad and you will recieve that hero! (yes, you can get the balrog and it haves no timer!)

Maybe you'll wonder what is with those barrels near the rock ramp: I had to add these, so after a player is defeated they will pour boiling oil each 30s and they will burn his units that continue spawning after he's dead, to prevent lag. Warning! The boiling oil burns anyone's units, so do not leave your units there or they will die!

Yeah, it is based on a haldir image, but i've changed a bit his face expression.... now he can be one of his brothers Rúmil and Orophin... also i'm planning on changing the uruk image too, maybe i will use the hobbit orcs

EDIT: I'm back with uruk cah portrait:

btw, the portraits are converted into jpgs here, so the alpha layer is lost if you wanna use them you have to create the alpha layer again

I'm back with a new map!
Nargothrond, the hidden elven city from the first age.... But since Turin came there, they built a bridge and they started war against Morgoth, wich led to their defeat by dragon Glaurung....

ss1.JPG - the falls of Narog
ss2.JPG - the bridge over Narog
ss3.JPG - more of river Narog
ss4.JPG - a small ruined elven city, wich used to be the summer residence of the king
ss5.JPG - a pond
ss6.JPG - inside the fortress
ss7.JPG - the lava pit and amphitheater
ss8.JPG - another pic from the fortress
ss9.JPG - the treasury

The map is for 4 players, 3v1... Also the farms were changed so they need less space for maximum production, ideal for fortress maps... and some other changes related to 1.06 bugs...

It is downloadable now here: http://bfme2.heaveng...php?fileid=1121

Ok, I've passed this topic a few times now, and now I realized I just gotta ask...

I assume the walls are impassable?

If so, how's the pathfinding of units? :p

Well, actually it's a hero map... yes the hedges are impassable... to prevent auto pathfinding for the hero(es), there are several areas on the path(s) wich are impassable until you come close to them (script triggered). Also the camera is following the hero, you can't cheat.
