Rigging is my only modeling problem nowadays, and as such I look for other possible solutions than begging for help  :whatoa:

Anyone tested this?

The problem is, not sure though, that even if you get another program to rig it, how will you keep the rig working, and will it even export to W3D :p

The best solution is, unfortunately, to buckle down and try learning it again.

That's what I'm afraid of...

Are there ANY other ways to rig than RenX and 3DSMax? And is Max that much better than RenX? If so, what is the major difference?

The major difference is that max is a lot more stable (RenX will pretty much crash endlessly on modern machines) and that max has the option of secondary rigging (spreading the same vertices around two bones instead of one, resulting in smoother rigs). If you need max, check my signature.

Okay thanks Mathijs.

Any good tutorials you could recommend?

All I have ever needed were the rigging tutorials on T3A. Once you know the set-up and the basics, it's trial and error.

Trust me when i say the 'auto-bind' (or whatever it is literally called) does most of the work for you, unless u go mumakil or horse on it :p

Well, I was thinking about all those errors that sometimes show up on rigged models, and then someone (for instance you) re-rig them, and most of the errors go away. I need to reach that level  :whatoa:

It's mostly just logical connection of the dots... literally... (If you consider the vertices to be dots, and the bones to be dots :p )

Binding is basically choosing what bone effects the selected vertex :)

Yeah, well that's the whole point - and a huge problem for me  :flameblast:

The only reason I can model, is that zBrush is so easy to work with compared to Max. So haveing to use Max for rigging is not very comforting for me and all the models I have to have rigged to finish this darn faction  :xd:

Thank you for the offer Valheru. The problem is that my models are aparently extra tricky to bind, as they have more polies.... Correct me if I'm wrong someone, but I think that is the case. I've gotten excellent help from Edain's mod leader, as well as Ridder Geel and Lauri for instance. But, in most cases I have to wait for help which can take weeks or months so it would defenitely be good if I could learn. But I have failed every time I tried (with RenX). And even though some of my models are rigged, they do have some errors, espescially the Goblin King  :whathuh:
