This update should also be manually blocked in the Windows Update menu once you have uninstalled it (or before it gets a chance to be installed). This will also apply to Windows 8(.1) and Vista.
More info and workarounds here: http://myonlinesecur...aks-many-games/
This is Microsoft's lazy idea of blocking "vulnerabilities" of SafeDisc as was done in Windows 10.
Also, can this get a pin?

After this I uninstalled that update KB 3086255

Guys help
I updated my Wind from 8.1 to 10 but on 8.1 I still had the same problem.
When I click on Zero hours on revora it says: "Login with administration priviliges and try again ''
and when I press on my shortcut of original Zero Hour it gives the same notification, afterwards I open it as administrator but nothing opens at the shortcut for Zero Hour (original)
Im trying to solve this issue for a while now, any help is appreciated.
One would think that WIN 10 woud have solved all these minor issues.
Please help as this is my favorite game
Thank you in advance.

Zero hour uses safedisc 2.90
what i did was install a No-cd crack and it does not require the disc to be inserted.
This does NOT circumvent the cd key, it only allows the game to run without the disc.
It also makes certain parts run faster because its not trying to read the slow cd.
In fact in redalert2 it makes the game run way better, provided you copy the videos from the cd to your harddrive (or SSD).
as long as the people i play have the no cd crack too i dont have problems playing them.
Not 100% sure if it will/wont work if the other players DONT have the crack, i have not tried that.
I bought this copy many years ago(my cd-key is legit) and i still use the no cd crack because the disc slows down the game at parts and swapping discs are a pain in the ass and the more you use it the greater the chance to scratch it and make it unreadable.
after applying the options.ini fix to the user/documents/zero hour folder the game runs very well in windows 8.
No compatibility mode needed.Just "Run as Administrator".
I was also able to set resolutions higher than the in game options would allow me to set by editing the options.ini folder

No-CD cracks (usually) mean you can't play with people that have the uncracked version, so it's not really a solution.
For Generals and Zero Hour, GenTool will even complain that you're using a cracked version.

I have nothing on windows 10. I have the original game on disc with good keys and I have done everything I can find, the options.ini, the override setup from the video and every compatability mode it will let me run it in. I have no success with any combination of the workarounds listed. Is there anything else I can try? Also, after installation, there is no icon for Zero Hour on my desktop and it does not appear in my programs list but it is in my file system.
