So, latest trailer:

All right, first things first. We will not discuss authentic leaks here, just bullshit guesses around the trailers so far.

My favorite little plot idea goes like this: Kylo Ren, new bad guy with red lightsaber, is Anakin's clone.

Mostly so we can get a moment where he and Luke confronts each other:

Kylo: "You killed your father!"

Luke: "No, you are my father!"

Of course, there's a lot of questions about what role Luke has in this movie. Maybe he's the dark force guy, or maybe he's just the new Kenobi. Anyway, your favorite guesstimate plot twist for "the force awakens" below!

At the moment, what I care most about is the quality of the actual film. Disney bought Lucasfilm, Lucas wrecked Episodes I-III, but JJ is there.

I think there's going to be a lot more gloppy political nonsense that these movies tend to emphasis about... but none of it actually being important.  And more pointless sky ship battles to pan the film out some more.  It's just going to be a pool of panning and nostalgia crap that JJ Abrams will lure every human being into just so he can drown them in it.  That's exactly what those 'orrible 3 remakes were all about.

From what I've seen, this film has a good chance of turning out really nice.

I'm already happy that it got so many internet racists all riled up over a main character being black (anti-white propaganda, lol). Maybe they're just mad that he's a couple of shades blacker than Lando Calrissian. Still not as black as Darth Vader's helmet though, and he was voiced by James Earl Jones.

My fantasy plot twist:

The new black guy and old Lando get together in Cloud City and bring back Motown.

Beyond the racist pulp, there actually is a lot of... what's a good word for it?  Civil pandering?  Sure.  Forcing in genders and races in places where you normally wouldn't see them, for the sake of equality.  Great for equality, bad for interest.  Padmay, or however you spell her stupid name... the princess from the 3 prequels.  She was some edgy woman who was thrown into the movie as some sort of well trained action hero.  It just didn't work, and her character is one of the least interesting top-rung characters in the series as a result.  She didn't look interesting, give interesting dialogue, and her role as a sappy love interest and well rounded individual was just a boring mess.  People want to shove women in typically male roles, while also trying to retain their feminine garbage.  That crap rarely works.

That black bozo that always looks like he's about to barf in the trailers isn't even the worst of it.  I saw a solid looking Storm Trooper commander with a cape, and I was told that's a woman.  No... just, no.  A nazi empire isn't going to hire a woman as a commander elite soldier.  My immersion.  It hurts.  Maybe if she's a chiseled old coot with a nasty British accent, but that's about the only way that would work for me.  And I haven't actually seen the new trailer, but I see a young, white woman on the thumbnail.  50 space bucks says she's some sort of action hero bint as well.  I hate young women in roles like that.  Carrie Fisher was fine, since she was a grumpy hag with hilarious lines, and she rarely engaged in the action.

It's rare to see the new English lady and African guy to do the stints. I wish Micheal B. Jordan had the role of a Jedi instead of the Human Torch in Fantastic Four, not that other guy.

After seeing the trailer, the quality is there, but the story plot is abstract and inexplicit. Also I am not seeing any unique new future technologies, if only Star Wars had a partial Deus Ex feeling.

Also did you know that the official poster of Star Wars The Force Awakens lacked the face of Luke Skywalker? Because he's excluded in it!

Star Wars could learn quite a few story telling elements from Deus Ex.

Deus ex is cyberpunk though, Star Wars is overall just a classic fairy tale adventure with more technological ignorance and feudalism. The most in common the two have is that they follow "low life" in a fight against powerful antagonists.
