So, after following all of the steps and successfully logging in, I tried to play a co-op campaign (Red Alert 3) with my friend but we received "connection failed 1-2" error. My friend can join, host and play skirmishes, so the problem is on my end. I tried enabling DMZ, disabling firewall and antivirus, and creating firewall rules for both RA3 and CNC-online. What can be done to solve this problem?

Same here, can't connect with my brother. I've seen on the net that the problem was already present with the gamespy server.

This is a know issue with RA3.   For the moment, you can keep trying (you might connect in the end) or try to connect via different internet connections (for example, one using the home internet and the other a mobile internet connection).     We'll look at this issue when we can, but as I said, this is a known problem and probably not one caused by C&C:Online.
