Hi, I’ve been trying to get RA3 to work with C&C online, but it refuses to open while running the program. The splash screen appears on the screen as normal for about a minute, before closing, and the game not opening.
I’m using the basic steam version of RA3 and have had no problems running the game without C&C online. I have tried all the solutions I've found on the forum including running the launcher in Windows XP compatibility mode, and as an administrator.
I have tried hooking the game, but received no confirmation message despite excluding C&C online from my antivirus, and trying to hook without my antivirus running, however now the desktop shortcut doesn’t work at all, not even bringing up the splash screen anymore, just the 'steam is launching Red alert 3' window for a couple of seconds before closing.

• Windows 7 and RA3 updated to most recent versions

You need to hook your game and run it that way. See "I'm having trouble using C&C:Online with Steam" under launcher issues in Common Issues & Solutions (which you ought to have read before you posted in here).

I tried hooking it, it didn't work, it just stops the shortcut from working at all

Please could I see the error log from the failed hooking attempt? By the way, you should be running RA3 with Win 7 compatibility (and as admin) and not Win XP.
