It's not a mistake. It's been like that for longer than I can remember.
Hostile is a cunt.

Thought I'd have that here to save time.

Any chance of getting my name changed to "Shine On" without the ""? :p

I'll have to think about it :)

If we keep the "flip a coin" rule, we should at least determine a minimum period of time in which the victim cannot request another change.

How about:

'Waiting Time' = X minutes

with

X = 'Member No.'

:)

Edit: changed hours to minutes.

It would make more sense to have
X = Postcount * Factor
because the more posts you have, the more people know your name, and the bigger impact it will have

What is the formula to determine the variable 'Factor'? :)

X Factor (5) - Post count (int) + member number (int) = name change time (minutes)

so:
100% - 7,573 + 1 = -7,472 minutes

so you should of changed my name 0.58 days ago.

About 5mins after i posted.

Actually it would be more like:
X(post count+member number)
so if post count equals 7575 :cool2: , X equals 5, and member number equals 1, then
5(7575+1)=37880 minutes (26.305[5 repeated]days.)

I think it should be:
X/(post count/member number)
so:
5/(7575/1)=1515 minutes (1.052083[3repeated]days.)

Hello everyone. I am back.

Monthly. Then there's no need for math, and it's nice and concise.

Wow, those formulas rid me of any chance for a name change soon >_<
Still, I request, that the period be killed. It is unworthy.

/me stares at the "." like countless times before, only now with an eased look.
It stares menacingly back, being the destructive void it is.

5/(7575/1)=1515

You DO realize that "5 / a very large number" can never be 1515 right? :p

Oops, got it backwards.
(7575/1)/5=1515 minutes (1.052083[3repeated]days.)

Thinking back on it, i believe it really should be a logarithmic function. Larger amounts of (insert variable) should yield less and less differential effects.

Fewer and fewer differential effects, I think you'll find. Grammar, people. That's my contribution to this discussion, I'm afraid. Maths and I have a long history of disagreement. I'm OK with the whole 'leave it a month' suggestion.
I hope I am a good enough writer that some day dwarves kill me and drink my blood for wisdom.
