Shadow and Flame: The War in the North

 

Rather than do what you've all been waiting for and announce our mod's upcoming release date, we decided to get slightly ahead of ourselves and confirm that we are already working on its first expansion pack!

 

Features:

• Two brand new factions, Erebor and Rhûn!
• A comprehensive campaign for both factions, following either King Dain in his attempt to rally Rhovanion, or Khâmul's secret quest of conquering it!
• New units for the original 6 SaF factions (though you wouldn't know they were new, seeing as you haven't played the original 6 yet, well, besides Gundabad).

Additionally:

• We are introducing the SaF Faction Maker, a user-friendly tool allowing you to easily implement new factions into Shadow and Flame. Don't worry about art: the tool allows you to make a selection from our collected library of other people's assets to use for all of your brand new units, heroes, and structures! Thanks Edain Team!

Hi. I recently discovered this mod and started reading these old posts, so I know nothing, as of yet, about any recent news other than the newest release. The news of the expansion in this post really caught my attention. Is this something that is still planned, all these years later? Was anything ever done with it to begin with? I'm personally most intrigued, by far, by whatever may have been developed or may currently be in development for the Rhun faction, so I hope my excitement might pay off this time! This faction seems to be the one left until last in many mods, and subsequently left untouched or touched the least.

Will anything more happen with these planned factions? Also, are any other factions planned?

Ah geeze... lol!

Well, my question still stands, though: Are there any new factions planned for the mod? It sounds pretty interesting but haven't looked too deeply into it. Just wondering what really separates it from, say, Edain.

From Edain? It's a BFME1 mod, for starters. If you want to know what separates it from Edain, you're asking for us to explain the difference between milk and eggs. Just give it a taste and see.
