Hi

I was watching some youtube videos about Tolkien's world and a nostalgic feeling came to me...How I had fun with these games.....

So I got my old discs and after install them.... voila.... nothing happened. After a few tries.... nothing fixed. lol

Then I googled for some alternative and I'm here.

I removed the previous installation and I will follow the tutorial using the posted files just for battle for middle earth 2 and rise of witch king.

I'm starting the proccess now and I will tell you my experience in a next post.

The download will take about 6 hours, let´s see what happens.

Downloaded original BFME2 and tried to keep to the guide but when I click to open the game the splash image comes up for afew seconds then I get this: 

 

Any help on this would be much appreciated.

What game? BFME1 or 2? for bfme2: Did you replace the game.dat file? Did you replace the game.dat file before or after updating the game? The fix doesn't work on 1.00 so you have to update before putting it in or the game will give you a new game.dat file once you update.

I got both BFME2 and ROTWK installed, but I can't launch any of the games. It keeps asking for the right Disc. Anyone able to help?

Hi there, I followed the guide for BFME2 and have assured that the game is being run with Nvidia and not Intel (and as an administrator), but it still sticks at the initial loading screen and eventually either closes on its own or gives the "so and so in not responding" message. I read through this thread as carefully as I could but with so much going on and so many different problems and solutions I haven't been able to make out what the issue is. The extent of my technical skills with this sort of thing is following a list of rules, heh. Any help would be much appreciated!

Sorry to post again but after solving my last issue I've got another one that I'm unable to find a good workaround for, that being that the RotWK patch 2.01 (and maybe even 2.02 if I can get that far) are giving me the "Not designed for windows or contains an error" message any time I try to run them. After looking it up it seems the only way to get past this is to uninstall the windows update that caused the corruption, but seeing as how this is a program that was initially created before Windows 10 even existed, I don't think it's a viable option to go through and uninstall every potential update candidate. Is there another way around this, or is there an updated version of the patch people are using?

I'm unable to download BFME 1 patch v1.03 and v1.06 keep getting an error that says "Download failed: File not found (404). Check your connection and click 'Retry' to try downloading again, or click 'Cancel' to terminate setup." Help please

well 1.06 will always give u this error if u don't install 1.03 first

whats the problem with 1.03 ?

The issue is that you haven't downloaded and installed v1.03 first. The steps and links are there in the guide.
