Seems like my units are mowing down everything in sight way quicker than they used to when the game was new.  Just started playing this again recently and I am wondering if this is on account of playing it on vastly more powerful PC's?

Hmm okay.  Just seem like the combat animations on units are significantly faster than they were back in the good ol' days haha.  Alrighty then.

Actually, the overall Frames Per Second for the game has been raised a bit on the latest patches (30 FPS to 34), so this is what you might be adjusting to.

Is the FPS actually tied into BFME's physical animation and unit movement speed?  I find it odd when games work that way.

Yeah it works that way. Honestly, I was more accustomed to the way it played on my old computer. Ever since I started playing on my newer one, a few years ago, something always seemed off. And eventually I realized the pace was just too fast for me to enjoy it. So I just recently turned down the FPS for my own mod, to simulate playing on my old computer. The nostalgia is great! :p
