I have the C&C Ultimate Collection on Origin and am trying to use C&C Online with it for Kane's Wrath but whenever I load the launcher it says "Could not write value Debugger to key \Software\Microsoft\WindowsNT\CurrentVersion\Image File Execution Options\C&CEP1.exe. Verify that you have sufficient access to that key, or contact your support personnel."

I have no idea what this means as people I know who use it have had no issues.

Two things spring to mind immediately (as you did not get that error when installing the Launcher, presumably?).

(1) Are you logged in as Administrator ( you have not said what operating system you're using so I can't take that any further with you) / did you run the launcher as administrator?

(2) Have you fully disabled any Anti Virus software you have installed?    {Setting that key is a technique used by some viruses, so your AV might be causing that.}

Ok I am on Win 10 and are logged in as an administrator.I also ran the launcher as one.

I disabled protection on my antivirus software and still had the issue.

In any case, some AV programs claim that they are inactive when they are, in fact not. What program is it you're using?

I am not sure if that one can cause this problem. Please could you uninstall the launcher completely from Windows Control panel, down load a new copy from the C&C:Online web site and install that (while running with an Administrator account and as Administrator), being sure to note any errors on installation.

I just ran the installer after uninstalling the launcher and it came up with the same issue.

Can you make an exception for the launcher in Norton?

The issue appears in the installer itself.

I'm having the exact same problem and yet I have all anti virus software excepting the download and .exe or disabled.

I thought that it had just appeared in the launcher originally but when I reinstalled it it ran into issues in the installer itself

I don't really know what you mean. Something is stopping that value being written and if you are running as admin it is most likely your AV program.

Please could you confirm whether or not you hooked Kane's Wrath. What happens when you hook? I ask because during hooking that value will be (or should be) set too.

The hooking appears to work at first but when I then try to load the game through the launcher it doesn't do so.

Ok I have gotten it to the point where I don't get the error upon loading the launcher but the hooking is still not working too well yet.

It was 360 security 100%. After replacing the program The installation went off without a hitch.

If there's any way of telling the AV program to not stop the installation even while it's turned off I feel that would finalize a solution.
