Dear forum users,

 

I have recently bought the C&C Ultimate edition (which is awesome) but I can't seem to go online via the C&C Online Launcher. Then I read on the FAQ that, if I bought the Ultimate edition via Origin, I would need to install Gentool. I have done this but still can't seem to connect. Anyone got an idea what I might be doing wrong? I get the message: "Can't connect to C&C Generals Zero Hour Online"

 

Perhaps it has to do with the fact that I am running windows 10 and Gentool only works up to windows 8?

No, Gentools works with Win 10. Just to be clear before we take this any further:

You should not be using the launcher if you have Gentool installed (Gentool does all of the work)

You should install this; C&C Ultimate Collection Launchers. If you don't you may experience various issues.

You need to run the game "as Administrator".


Please could you do those if you have not already and report back?

Thank you for your quick reply. I will download the file and run the game as admin. However when I click the link I get the message that it is under maintenance. Are there any other links that work?

You should find an alternative download here; MediaFire.

You will need to unzip that one.

I have installed the fixed launchers. also I have launched the game as admin and have the Gentool installed. However I still get the same message that I can't connect.

 

Is there any additional info that I can give you that may help?

I think you might have to set your computer as the DMZ or port forward.    Both will require you to set Google your router to find out how to set that up.      Setting your computer as the DMZ is likely to be much easier, if you can do that.
