A question about the lotr str file

Best Answer Easterling26, 10 August 2016 - 12:54 PM

Hi Ridder Geel.

You are right. I did not cause any problems at all.

I managed to find a usable german lotr str file.

I replaced the english lotr str file and everything was in german again.

The only thing that is missing in that file is my added stuff but thats not a

problem I can easily fix that.

Thanks for your help. You have saved my mod. If this had not worked I would have started

all over again because it would have been an insane amount of translation work.

Hello everyone.

I have a question about the lotr str file.

A few days ago I made a post about a issuse

with my mod and that It was related to this file.

My mod was build on a german version of Rise of the Witch King.

Somehow the german lotr str file got overwritten and now everything

is in english.

Now I want to ask if it would be possible to use a german lotr str file and overwrite

the english lotr ? Would this cause any major bugs or would this completely break the

game?

I had to make a decision whether to start from scratch with my mod  on a clean version

of the game or to carry on with the work and fix the problem.

I really dont want to start over at this point because if I start over then 2 years of work

would have been a waste of time.

This is the only big issue with my mod. All the things that I added to game would not have a name but

the vanilla things should all be fine ?

I'd really appreciate your help here.

I haven't encountered any problems using a different language lotr.str file.

I'd say just make a backup of whatever u have now, and give it a try, if something does pop up you'll know, but the worst that could happen is probably a string that isn't displayed correctly :p
