Hi there,

I am having issues with BFMEII and ROTWK on Windows 10. The game loads the splash art, then the screen goes black for 2 seconds before 'This program has stopped working' appears.

I have tried the options.ini options, I have tried switching between my nvidia 760M and my intel HD graphics also.

I also tried to run it on one core (through cmd), which also didn't help..

Updated the graphics drivers and used very old ones to no avail.

Compatibility mode did not help either, or the bug fixxer program, and I installed the complete DirectX library but it didn't fix the issue either.

Anyone got any suggestions? One such concern of mine is that both my graphics choices are not compatible to run it...

Any help is greatly appreciated. I just want to play one of my favourite games again...

EDIT: You guys seem more active than most. If I get up and running I'll give the winner $10USD, or I will donate $20USD to a charity of their choosing as a sign of thanks :)

Your Options.ini, is it empty?

Forshire (one of the many great BFME developers) made a fix for this, see if it works:

http://www.thebfme.c...rash-vista.html

Also download this to get the patches (to update your game):

http://www.thebfme.c...-installer.html

Note that if some maps don't work, or some mods don't work, you should go back to patch 1.06 (It will be very clear when you download that ^). Otherwise I always use Patch 1.08 because it's the best!

The 'great' Forshire's fix just creates an Options.ini file. ;)

@Callie: make sure your Options.ini isn't empty, or the game will act like it isn't there.

Here's mine.

Attached File  Options.ini   508bytes   53 downloads

No my options.ini is not empty lol. I have tried quite  few different options just to ensure. I created an options.ini file to get C&C Decade Pack working, and it did, so it's frustrating that it didnt fix BFME2 :(

I have tried the patch installer and all of forshire's tools. Also went and downloaded an iso and mounted it (the installation method on thebfme website) but that didn't work either...

Are you using alcohol 52% or daemon tools to mount your ISO? I recommend you use alcohol 52% because it's soo much easier to use and you might even avoid a mistake you had made when using it.

I use daemon tools, because i use the same mounting for my ps1 games when emulating without issue. I'm sure its working fine, and i get the same issue when using the iso compared to disk install/launch.
