Hello everyone.

After doing alot of coding I decided to create new models because almost everything else

is done (Buildings etc.)

I made  a model of a Gondor Man at Arms with a spear and his shield on the back.

The binding was not  a problem at all but his weapon is floating in the air when he

walks/runs . All his attack animations look good but his walking and running animation

look weird because his spear is floating in the air(I am using the Towerguard animations).

Unfortunately I cannot attach images to my post because I have exceeded my upload limit.

Now my actual question is how can I get this right? Everytime I make a model the weapon is

for some animations floating in the air. This is also the case with my Dunedain Rangers with sword.

When they are in the idle mode their sword is not really in their hand.

Are there any ways of solving this problem? Because I think it looks very bad when I play

a skrimish and I use my units and they just look bad because of their weapon not being at the

right spot.

I would suggest to look at the original tower guard model and poistion your spear almost the same as there. Weapons work a bit weird in animations in this game. If the spear is very different in size and shape from the original one, you might need to find a good spot for it in the model so it looks decent in animations, try moving it around. A perfect grip of the weapon in all the unit's animation is usually hard to achive.

Also some animations are unused, so their weapons weren't animated at all. I don't know for sure if this is the case here.

Thank you for your answer.

I managed to get it right. I just had to make the arms a bit longer.

Also thanks for the hint of looking at the towerguard  again.

I totally did not think of doing that.

Anyways thank you for your help.

I really appreciate it.

Ahh yes also that. :p

Indeed some skl have very long arms, or at least comparing to other units in the game. You need to be careful for these, it's good to plan what your unit's skl will be and make the shape around it. I, for example, don't like changing proportions after I finished the model and rigged it.

Glad to be of help.
