C&C Generals Zero Hour Connection Issue

connection internet failure

Best Answer LebFighter, 02 October 2016 - 05:59 AM

Alright I found the Solution , For people experiencing the very same problem:
go to cmd and Check if you can ping to any website (ping google.com for example)

if it gives request timed out then there's a problem.

In my case, my ISP has blocked ICMP, so I am using a VPN for now until he fixes it.

Hello Everyone, I am having a problem with playing Generals Zero Hour using Gentool Online. it says "Waiting for Probe Response" and then "Unable to connect to players" sometimes it works but RARELY, probably after 20 attempts.

1-I am Running it on Windows 8.1 64 bits, I did go to properties and compatibility, then Checked "Run as Administrator" and  compatible mode set to Windows XP (SP2 and SP3 tried them both)

2-Forwarded all the required ports (UDP and TCP)

3-Added the game to the firewall's exceptions list.

4-added my static IP to DMZ on my router.

5-Restarted the Game

6-Changed Options.ini and played around with the settings

7-Reinstalled the game

and The Problem is Still like before, nothing has changed, do you have any clue what's going on?

Thank you!

Can you run this please

If you cannot connect to other players, also do this:

  1. Disable port forwarding and DMZ in your router.
  2. Download the connection diagnostic tool here: http://server.cnc-on.../NATNegTest.rar
  3. Extract it into a folder and double-click on the .bat file.
  4. Copy-paste the output to your help topic.

"To know what question we may reasonably propose is in itself a strong evidence of sagacity or intelligence. For if a question be in itself incongruous and begs for uncalled-for answers, it holds, sometimes, besides embarrassing the proposer, the disadvantage to seduce the unguarded listener into giving absurd answers, and we are presented with the ridiculous spectacle of one (as the ancients said) milking the he-goat, and the other holding a sieve beneath."

It appears your router and/or connection is not capable of NAT negotiation.
==> You will need to use port forwarding and possibly configure a static port.
