The last few times my buddy and I have played online, the game has had a "game has detected a mismatch" crash. It happened once or twice before, but last night both games we tried crashed. Any ideas for the causes and any fix?

In most of these games, the usual cause is the map (unless one of you is using some kind of bad hack :p). If you're using custom maps, that is a likely suspect (you could both reinstall the map from the same place). Otherwise, one of you probably needs to reinstall your game.

Neither of us is using hacks. We both have legitimate copies of the game, purchased through Origin. Both are the big C&C bundle. We only play the games with the two of us against computer opponents. I think the map is "Twilight Flame", but I'd have to double check.

Twilight Flame is a standard map so not a real suspect (although many players that use it are :D. Sorry, I digress). Sometimes a shockingly bad connection can cause desyncs but I suspect more that one of you needs to reinstall your game.

So, just try a deinstall/reinstall? Would we need to do that with the other software, I forget the name, the one that makes it work online?
