Winner of more than 200 user made unofficial patches, Skyrim Special Edition brings back the frustration of Bethslops sloppy coding. The Special Edition includes the critically acclaimed half-finished concepts and barely finished content with all-new bugs like consistently crashing to desktop at the character creation menu, meaning you cannot create a character which makes this game literally unplayable for some.  As with any Bethesda Slopworks titles, you can run around and experiment.  Be the character you want to be.  Play the way you want to play.  But only after two years of patching and bug-fixing.  Buy now to pay a premium for being beta tester, something that was once regarded not only a necessity to releasing a well received and reputable game but also a paid vocation.

Hostile is a cunt.

Thought I'd have that here to save time.

Played for 12 hours so far, not a single crash or bug.

The biggest problem I see is that there are still mods better looking than the remastered graphics.

I guess so. Still looks *amazing* though. Haven't seen many graphic mods do this kind of volumetric fog/lighting. It's beautiful, and videos/screenshots don't really do it justice.

Plus I always hated fiddling with graphic mods for Skyrim (while also hating the idea that I was playing on subpar graphics when choosing not to fiddle), so this is a great starting point. I installed that big mesh improvement mod and am looking for a good foliage retexture mod, but other than that there's really no other visual mods that I'll need.

I'll probably give it a try eventually.  I just wish they would have done a Morrowind remaster instead.  People have been remaking Morrowind in the new game engines for years, and an official version with Skyrim graphics and physics would just be incredible.

It'd also have taken years of development time that I would rather see spent on a new TES game.

They've been wasting time on things like MMOs and card games anyway.  They might as well put efforts into something the fans have been asking for.

Eh. TESO wasn't developed by the Morrowind/Oblivion/Skyrim team. And I'd say fans want a new game more than a new version of an old game. I certainly would much rather explore new lands and stories than revisit the Morrowind theme.

Plus Skywind is still going strong.
