Trump is preparing to make a speech for his first State of the Union address tomorrow and most people won't be watching to hear his lies and fake news.

After one year of presidency according to the Washington Post, out of 60 pledges, 11 are kept, 15 are broken, 7 are compromised, 11 are stuck and the rest of them are in progress. His only victory, the tax cuts. His future doom, Uncle Sam possibly going bankrupt without longer-term budget deals, and his possible impeachment by the Democrats in the future.

The best part of that State of the Union address was that Freudian slip by Paul Ryan: I have the high privilege and the distinct honor of preventing, uh, presenting to you the President of the United States.

ROFL!

State of the Union?  Oh, you mean 20 minutes of Old Money reading a script that someone else clearly wrote.  I thought Trump was against teleprompters and script writers, and there he went anyway.

Next up, Trump wants a military parade like no other: https://www.washingt...m=.87979c0a72f5

Russia, France, China and North Korea had theirs, so why not the US show their military strength anyway?

Still people think Trump is preparing for war.

Decipher this Trump quote for me.  I can't figure out what on God's green earth he's trying to say.

In the “old days,” when good news was reported, the Stock Market would go up. Today, the Stock Market goes down...and we have so much good (great) news about the economy!

He means he doesn't know how to distinguish what is a good news for the stock market nowadays. That makes him pissed off.

Well the Dow Jones (I mean stocks) is in fact trying to get to "correction mode". But I have a grim feeling America might be seeing a recession this year.

And for the second time in three weeks, Uncle Sam is partially shut down since there has yet to be an agreement with both the Senate and House on Capitol Hill, an event where Trump threaten to shut down the government if his "wall" isn't getting funded.

But I have a grim feeling America might be seeing a recession this year.

Take a look at this graph:

https://www.xe.com/c...&to=EUR&view=2Y

Pay attention to what happens with the dollar there from 2017 onwards. America first, heh?

The graph in the link below partially explains this process:

https://tradingecono...government-debt

The other explanation is a recent bill from Trump that cut taxes:

https://www.thebalan...cts-you-4113968

Don't be surprised if USA government debts increase. And with more debts, more loans are required. To attract more loans, the government increases interests from the loans. And considering that US government always pays its loans (it can create more dollars if necessary), with higher interests US government loans can be more interesting that Dow Jones... at least for some conservative investors.

With the value of the dollar going downhill, I don't think Trump's tax cut will make the difference he is expecting on Uncle Sam's economy. But it is not clear that there will be a recession in a low term either. Probably on medium and long term.

Is anyone here surprised by Trump's lack of empathy for the people? It seems as if though he only wanted to become President so people would like him more........

Do you mean the Florida people?  Well, he flew down there and took publicity photos next to the living victims.  Dunno how much more empathy you were expecting.
