I have forward port 16000 UDP, i have checked  if it is open with Port Forward Network Utilities, and it says it is open

And i have entered  16000 as the static port

I tried to find information on how to set my router to DMZ, but i cant find any info on how to do that on my router

My router is : MediaAccess TG789bvn.

Hopefully someone can provide me some information on how to set my router to DMZ

Thnx

I found a video on how to Portforward that modem. Youtube. You should set the protocol to UDP (that guy sets his to TCP and UDP) and forward the whole range 8088-65535 to the IP address of your computer on your local network. You can get that IP address by typing "ipconfig" in a command prompt. That should show information on all of the network cards on your computer. You want the IP4 address of the card that connects to your router.

If doing that helps, you should set the address of that card to a static address. Comeback here if you have problems doing that.

Hi toxic

thnx for your response

I already tried to forward the whole range 8088-65535 and tested it and it stil doesnt work.

When i now use the tool to check if the port UDP 16000  is open it says  : Your port is not open or reachable

If i pick a random port between 8088-65535 it also says its not open or reachable

When i only open port UDP 16000( so not the whole range 8088-65535) and check if it is open then the tool says it is open.

Ok i have tried it again and when i now test if the ports are open it says its open

so hopefully i can connect now

When i join a room i can connect now, The host can start the game but when the loading screen comes up i only see the host is loading and when the host is done loading the dc screen pops up.

It happens every time and with different players.

Looks like i can recieve custom maps from the host but when the map transfer is done the DC screen pops up.

Having the ports open on their own probably won't be enough. You need to make sure that your modem is going to send incoming traffic (from the other players in the game) to your computer. Anyway, the relevant ports won't be open unless the game opens them.

Still, we're making progress if the game will start. Can you check the IP address shown in Options->Settings->Network is an address on the network you use to connect to the internet (it should start 192. or 10.).

If it's the same as the IP4 address shown on your network card when you run IPCONFIG, that is, indeed, good. You shouldn't bother setting the static port 16000 in Kane's Wrath (I don't think it actually does anything). The fact that the game is able to start tell us that you are sending and receiving the network traffic you need to send and receive (or the game would not start). I guess that you disconnect after the game starts because there is a quality issue in the connection and the connection becomes overwhelmed at the start of the game. That is my theory anyway.

I suggest that you take the usual steps to improve the quality of your connection (that does not necessarily relate to the speed of your connection). Those steps would be keeping your incoming phone line (or the connection from the street to your modem) away from electrical noise.

I would try disabling Windows Firewall temporarily to see if that makes a difference (just in case).

Disabling windows firewall didnt helped.

I am directly connected with my modem ( +/- 10 meter cable) if i put a router between me and my modem, wil that make any difference? Or shorten the distance between me and my modem, does that have any effect?
If the problem is between the connection from the street to my modem then my isp has to solve it, is there a way for me to rule out that this is the case? I doubt this is the case since the speed of my connection is fine

OK i think i made some progress. I have assigned the public adress of my internet connection to a specific device ( my pc) on my local network. Not sure what it means but it fixed gameranger. I can now connect and play games through gameranger.

KW on cnc online doesnt work unfortunately.

When i now run your diagnostic tool it shows the following

Using server nntest.cnc-online.net:30000
Bound to local port 58959
Bound to local alternate port 58960
Resolving hostname 'nntest.cnc-online.net'...

Sending client INIT2 [114833] from port 58960 to nntest.cnc-online.net:30000

Our alternate public address is 87.214.151.95:58960
Sending cient START [114833] from port 58960 to nntest.cnc-online.net:30000

Received server PING(3) [114833]

===========
  SUCCESS
===========
Received 3 pings from nntest.cnc-online.net:40000.
NAT negotiation works with your router and connection.
==> You do not have to use port forwarding.
Press any key to continue . . .

the ip adress shown in Options->Settings->Network is the same as my IPv4 adress but it doenst start with 192. anymore

Gameranger works entirely differently. Can you post the IP address show by the game and content of ipconfig in here. The IP addresses shown are not your public IP addresses, so there is no need to worry about that.

Errrrrg. Sorry, you have a strange set up there and it was exposing your external IP address, so I removed the information. Domestic internet connections are not normally configured like that. Presumably you did not have the gameranger application running when you did IPCONFIG?

I think that you may need to approach your provider and tell them that you are unable to receive UDP properly. That is if you are sure that you have Windows Firewall disabled for both private and public networks.

My ISP says everything works as it should, They say there are no problems with the UDP ports.

That's good news, anyway.   You need to look at that firewall again (for both public and private connections).    Also disable any anti virus you have temporarily.
