I'm unable to get RA3 with C&C:Online working in wine on Linux.

In this thread: https://forums.revor...king/?p=1027487

ToxicShock stated that:

We're working on a different way of launching these games at the moment, without using a launcher. What I ought to do is to test that under Wine. I suspect that that method will work a lot better under Wine than using the launcher.

What is the state of this work?

We think that we might be looking at a release at the beginning of next year.   I confess, I have not yet tested to see if it will work on a Wine installation (or even tried to install the game that way).    I will do that soon.

Thanks for the update. How will it be different from the current launcher? Only dns changes needed? Or a one-time patch on the installation?

There will be no separate launcher as such.   The games will be patched automatically on loading, like they are with Gentool.     That should involve having fewer calls to Windows functions to achieve the patching, which increases the chances of it working on Widows emulators.   Here's hoping.

Sounds good. Let me know if you need someone to test in wine.
