Well If you still have the disk and serial, you can download an ISO maker program such as Alcohol 120% or MagicISO or DaemonTool, install it on some other computer (like a friend's maybe)

 

Then insert the disks on that computer one by one and make an ISO file out of each them. Then if you still need patch, a quick google search can land you to the ones in cnclabs

 

That's what I did on mine, since my laptops keep having borked DVD drive after months of use

The patches are 1.006 yet MO says it requires the 1.001 patch.  Maybe someone should just make a torrent with the required files for simplicity.  It's not like you can't play Yuris for free anyway, simply by downloading from Xwis and using cncnet.  I doubt EA would care, even if this franchise was on their radar. Edit: OK found the 1.001 patch - will try.

Okkkay so I've got this really strange thing going on: when I try to launch a skirmish game or a mission, instead of starting the game, the EA logo pops up, then I find myself in vanilla YR's menu, appearently with Ares dll being active. This is new, even the day before yesterday, the game worked fine, and I don't remember changing any relevant files on my PC.

 

Update: the problem is gone. I don't know what caused this, and I didn't do anything to fix it. It's just gone.

This is a lot of work... I don't get why someone wouldn't just upload the relevant patched files somewhere.  I mean for crying out loud, you can play the game for entirely free downloaded off xwis and on cncnet, I'm sure EA does not give a flying monkey shit about it.  I'm close to saying fuck it, making ISOs of the discs I already own is too much work and no guarantee it will work afterward.  If I do get through this bullshit I will be doing just that.  I found a torrent that appears to be unhacked, will try that.  I just cannot find the will to make ISOs of both the discs that I already paid for just to play this game and muck around with 3 installs, after I've already put this much work into it, and with no guarantee it will work under windows 10. 

 

Is this game worth putting 10 hours worth of work just to cross your fingers and hope it works?

Hello guys!

 

I'm new here, and I just wanted to try this Mental Omega stuff, but I can't make it work. I thought I did everything properely, but it crashes everytime. I use win 7 x64 OS. I installed both the RA2 and Yuri's Revenge here: E:\Games\RA YR and I can run both of them properely (I have the 1.001 version). After that I downloaded Mental Omega 3.3 and extracted the same place (E:\Games\RA YR) and wanted to try it, so I ran it, I made some settings, and I wanted to launch a game, but I couldn't it just crashed out without any messages, so I installed here the newest CnCNet too maybe it has some files which is neccessary or I don't know and on the other hand I want to play it online. I set the .exe files to run as administrator, my user have also administrator privileges, and when I run the MentalOmegaClient.exe the YRClient starts with the following crash:

 

"Yuri's Revenge has crashed. Error message: Index was out of range. Must be non-negative and less than the size of the collection. Parameter name: index. If the issue is repeatable, please contract YR staff at forums.cncnet.org/index.php?board124.0."

 

I think this is not the YR's bad because I can run that, so it's not for the YR staff, so I searched for this on Google and other places but nobody has the same problem. Maybe I made some mistakes or I don't know but I didn't have any other error messages.

 

Can any of you please help me?

No, you shouldn't install CnCnet for YR to the directory where Mental Omega 3.3 is. What was the crash you were getting at the beginning? Should've sent client.log created after it.

EVERY FREAKIN TIME i try to start a mission campaign the game crashes after loading the mission, i reinstalled the game. I follow the installation guide but nothing. The game keeps crashing.

After crashing a message says:

 

 

Yuri's Revenge has encountered a fatal error!

Would you like to make a full report of the crash for the developers?

                                                                       YES/NO

 

And when i click YES the game is incapable of make a crash report.

 

PD: in skirmish and online mode the game works just fine

I'm having issues on my Win 10 laptop. Compatibility mode set to Win XP SP 3 on the exes, as well as administrator mode and I've tried settings color depth to 16-bit on gamemd.exe.

 

With windowed mode disabled I can launch the game, but it runs like a slideshow and none of the menus show up, including the sidebar.

I heard this could be fixed by enabling windowed mode, and upon trying to launch the game, I received this error:

 

Tried a few variations on the resolution and windowed mode settings, but no dice. I am using TFD with a straight up vanilla install of RA2 and YR, and a Mental Omega directory by itself with the required files copied over. Any help?

Thank you very much, I just reinstalled the whole game and mod, and now it's working. I don't know what was wrong before installing the CnCnet, but it's working now.

Enabling windowed mode yields the error: "Screen mode not found: x=1536 y=864 c=16"
Disabling windowed mode with TS-DDRAW makes it run, and it runs more smoothly, but the ingame sidebar and the menu items when pressing Esc or Tab are still completely missing.

Edit: Lowering my resolution fixes the missing sidebar and menu items. I can't do my native 1920x1080 resolution, or even 1600x900, but 1366x768 appears to work fine except for alt tabbing. As said above, windowed mode doesn't work so I can't try that to fix the alt tabbing issue. Still, better than nothing.
