Consistency makes for professionalism, and is good game design practice. Picking and choosing certain things to be exempt from ironclad rules means they aren't that ironclad, and ultimately leads to a slippery slope of "well this doesn't follow the rules, why doesn't this?" "And why not this either?", and eventually just down-spirals into debates over needing fifteen different categories for things because they don't exactly fit into one specific category. Having things follow rules, even if they are sometimes harmless in the short term, benefits something as a whole in the long run.

It seems a little weird and unsymmetrical that Russian Palace grants no subfaction exclusive unit to non-Soviet players while Psychplug grants two and all other subfaction exclusive tech structures grant exactly one. Would it be a good idea to make Russian Palace grant prerequisite overwrite for Tigr APC and remove the prerequisite overwrite for Epsilon Elite? If this is done, it might be better to make Latin Battle Lab grant Bomb Buggy instead of Mortar Quad so that there is a consistent theme for Soviet prerequisite overwrites, just like there is for the other factions.

Similarly, I think it might be a good idea to change the prerequisites of miners to their corresponding refinery alone so that they can be built from any factories as long as the player has a refinery that comes with the corresponding miner.

It's not supposed to be symmetrical. That whole list is a workaround for the shortcomings of FactoryOwners, an afterthought.

Secret Lab is almost like crates in a way. Would it be better if there is a new option on the client (or a revised crates option)to make it always unlocks a certain thing or uncapturable at all for competitive gameplay?

Can the usage of green (shown as lime in the client) and dark green (shown in green in the client) in campaign be cleanup in the future? They are so confusing that green is even used by both the Allies and the Epsilon.

Recommended green be used only as a substitute color for Scorpion Cell, and dark green be reserved for the future Foehn color. The current usage can be adjusted as follows:


Changes dark green Americans in Happy Birthday to dark blue, while the green Americans in Peace Treaty to neon blue, the green Americans in Insomnia to dark blue;

Changes Panic Cycle's dark green EA to dark sky;

Changes all Cell in Neuromancers to green;

Replace dark green in Warranty Void by yellow, while replaces that in The Lunatic by other Soviet color.

Changes the amplifier at the beginning of Obsidian Sands to pink or purple3 (light purple).

Many people have found that Volkov and Chitzkoi appear in Sunlight, which is contradictory in the plot, as the two heroes are busy destroying the Psychic Beacon in Xizang during this time, so there is no reason for them to join the battle against the English Channel. On the contrary, the enemy heroes appearing in this mission can be replaced by Morales, as Confederation has not yet sent any of their subfaction-specific units; and with the help of MiGs, Morales will have a greater threat to the player base than Volkov.

I respectfully disagree with this discuss result. Briefing in S10 has pointed out clearly that the Soviets is keep battling at English Channel, not have been defeated at that time. Perhaps the discussors were too care about the presence of Volkov and Chitzkoi, ignoring the more important briefing.



The reason why the two appear in this mission is probably because this was in order to create a scene that "this is the largest Soviet invasion of Allied territory", then chose the Soviet hero casually... Perhaps this is a negligence.

It was concluded by Alstar if I remember correctly, and he is a beta tester, meaning that he is close enough with the mission designer. The only explanation I can give is that.. the briefings were outdated

Edit : That, or I misremembered and Sunlight is supposedly happening after Lunatic. That makes more sense considering Volkov and Chitzkoi escaped via plane and they could be dropping in England from the same plane they escaped with.

It's also possible Sunlight wasn't the end of the soviet offensive, that they kept up the siege afterwards until the Chinese pulled out and betrayed Russia.

Well... it seems that Alstar's arrangement of the plot on Discord is quite different from that of most people, I don't know why..

Though I prefer to change the mission elements that do not fit the plot, like removing Hammer Defenses from many early missions, rather than continuously tweaking briefings (also Mentalmeisters have never did this). Anyway, hope that this controversial setting will have a satisfactory adjustment in the future.

There are multiple volkovs and chitzkoi's. Wasn't it established there is a cyborg production plant somewhere? It litteraly says so in his description at the factions page. The russians just don't want others (and their own generals) to know that. The volkov in sunlight is plain and simply a different volkov from the one in the lunatic and maybe even dragonstorm. The sunlight one got destroyed (and the russian commander probably executed for failure) while the lunatic one prospered. In act 2 this production plant must have been compromised by yuri, since every act 2 appearance of volkov seems like its the same one, he also gets much more experienced and stronger in the later missions reinforcing that idea.

Hi, just a little thing in my mind, everytime I see disk. The top, I know its classic shaped, but maybe you just can make it smaller a bit and add make bottom remap larger.

I've confirmed that Recharger briefing is tweaked in 3.3.3... I made mistake. However, it’s still quite unreasonable of reorganize the order of Lunatic, even Unshakeable and Sunlight (if Lunatic is set after Sunlight, the defeat mentioned in Unshakeable’s briefing is obviously meaningless) just for proving the rationality of the existence of the duo. Mass rewriting two mission briefings is too rude, not as better as change the hero to Morales directly which can also complement Confederation's position in this mission.

 

 

In addition, can the flags of Allied Tier 2 buildings be back in 3.3.5? I must say, after losing its precious flag, the Shield Command looks... severely ugly.

Well as I've suggested, Sunlight could probably be still ongoing when, Lunatic ended. That would give Volkov and Chitzkoi some time to fly from China to Britain

Sunlight happens before The Lunatic. The Lunatic is the event where the Sino-Soviet relations are severed.
