Soviet Battle bunkers, Shelter (Superpower), civilian buildings.....

 

When flak troopers are inside they cannot shoot any air targets...

 

That's an intended feature. Please read its unit description first.


In-game speed vs real life speed?   
Malver in Obisidian Sands?   
Strength-Agility-Intellect subfactions?

Custom map here, I had a lot of Create Team trigger on and on small delay

And at some point the AI just stopped working

And that includes the Iron Guards it had as well, they're not out of power, so I don't know what happened here.
No it's not out of power, the Tesla Coil still circulates with power

Wow.

If you didn't change the rules, then you have placed REALLY a lot of units there. I believe there's a number cap of applying special effects to units per frame.

 

Don't forget to place some dogs or terror drones :D

Iron Guards activate on the presence of a friendly/own unit. They are increasing the eco-friendly levels!

 

Have a feeling they don't take on their own Iron Curtained units.

From what I've checked, the Iron Guard did not had such incidents before, not even in 3.0 beta, so... It would be nice if anyone could find any good reasons for this to even possibly happen in the first place -_-"

Also, the Iron Guard is still technically functioning, just that it refuses to apply its effect at the same time the AI decided to just die for quite a while, and only apply its effect while the AI resumes its functioning.

(And for the ones who might think this is 3.0, we are playing with 3.3.2)

You should definitely not consider everything on it "canon" or "official". As you said, it's fan-made, I didn't necessarily "approve it". There are quite a lot of inaccuracies.

From what i understand, giving AA troops in bunkers/civilian buildings the ability to shoot at aerial stuff will also affect the other infantries in it, so to prevent Conscripts/GIs and etc from being able to fire at air units, it was decided to render infantries in buildings unable to fire at air units outright.

I don't think so. This feature could be realized by modifying Flak Trooper's garrison weapon. While Conscript's weapon cannot target air, they simply won't shoot.

 

It's mainly due to balance reason. 3/3 config battle bunkers will turn into all-rounded battle stations at only $1110. No one will build Flak Cannons anymore.

 

How about your soviet opponent para-dropping a group of infantry in your rear and putting them inside an emergency bunker? You'll probably be obliged to divide your main forces because of some $2000 things.

I always thought that garrisoning should be elaborated. Ares allows building clearing weapons, they are already in the mod in the form of flash bangs and duplicants. IMHO most infantry types should be able to enter buildings, but buildings should serve only as limited cover - massed fire from even normal weapons should hurt the people inside a lot. Besides this, snipers, flamethrowers, chem sprayers, gas weapons, nanites should be even more devastating to them. This way urban engagements would be a lot more varied, but thanks to the newfound vulnerability of garrisoned troops, it would be also more gruesome with much more losses. So garrisoning would serve simply to increase the survivability of infantry by using temporary, expendable cover (civvie buildings), instead of near inpenetrable defenses. I don't see why this isn't in the game already. The thing could be further balanced by not allowing civvie buildings to be repaired, even by engineers. Bunkers could be balanced by tinkering with the number of infantry they can hold, the bunker's strength etc.

Except that's what Speeder/Other MM said back in the days that garrison either all attacks air or doesn't attack air at all.

well i may as well report this since it just happened but i just had a CTD while playing skirmish on the map eve of destruction

all i tried to do was destroy a dumpster but it was indestructible and retaliated by killing my game

i never stood a chance against it

well this is interesting on my first attempt to recreate it i couldn't find it so i blew up a gas station thinking it was behind it and the game crashed

on my second attempt to blow it up there was a small explosion when i attacked the gas station so on my third attempt i destroyed the gas station and lo and behold there was a dumpster inside it which was causing the fuckiness

i tried to screenshot it but it didnt take
