Long time lurker/MO player here, stunned as always with the work of the Mental Omega team. But I have so many questions, I finally decided to start posting on this board. What's bugging me today? The Epsilon stolen tech unit, the SCAVENGER.

So if you infiltrate an Allied Tech Lab, you get the Scavenger. I wanted to know all of the possible weapons it can obtain, so if you guys could help me complete a list, that'd be awesome!

-Starts with Drain Beam, cannot target infantry, slowly chips away at vehicles and buildings. When a vehicle dies from damage from the beam, Scavenger acquires a new permanent weapon.

-After killing an IFV unit type, some kind of heavy anti-infantry and AA machine gun is equipped.

-After killing a lighter tank (Bulldog, Rhino, etc.) a light cannon is equipped.

-After killing a heavy tank (Abrams, Colossus, Mirage, etc.) a dual-super heavy cannon is equipped.

^^^^ The above ones are the only ones I'm positive about. Below, there are a few which I am pretty sure I saw, but the game's action was to hectic and fast to know for sure.

-Killing a Charon Tank seems to change the Drain Beam into a beefed up version, like a "Chrono Beam".

-Killing Blizzard Tank seems to give the Blizzard cannon to the Scavenger.

-Killing Prism Tank gave a modified Prism cannon.

This is all I've been able to identify so far. For Stolen Tech Units, the Scavenger may be a hidden gem if we can put it all together and figure out exactly how it works. I'd be happy to open up an Unholy Alliance match with someone specifically to kill 1 of each vehicle with Scavengers so we can identify exactly what can be acquired from each faction. Thanks for any contributions!

There is also a Laser mode, Tesla Coil mode, Rad Cannon mode (Krukov's weapon), Tyrant mode and ARO launcher turret. And btw the OMFGHUEG gun drops from miners, Abrams gives you laz0rs.

I think all the combos should be listed officially in Scavenger's description tbh.

In some strategies, you might start with a single or a pair of Scavengers, it's easier than more than 5 of them. I did in skirmish.

If the Scavenger leeches off miners, it will have a twin-barreled cannon effective against vehicles, but less so against structures and infantry.

Unless by groups. That what you forgot something.

The twin cannon you guys are referring to that you can snag from a miner is incredible. Have you ever seen what the heavy machine gun can do? Kills a Cryocopter in 3 hits IIRC, and Siegfried didn't last long against 1 HMG Scavenger.

I wasn't sure if you could snatch up literally any weapon. Have you guys seen the prism tank beam too, or am I imagining this? I'm almost positive I got a few of them when a human player moved a clump of prism tanks passed my deployed Chimera quad and Scavengers. And I remember noting that it's like a miniature version, although still maintains siege range and appears to pack more punch than a Siege Cadre's gun.

This was what turned me onto this vehicle- if I could snatch a Prism, I should be able to mount a Zephyr cannon! Or the Athena uplink! What about Foehn's stuff, can i get "Golden" Rocket systems and plasma weapons? Electro-cannon from a Tesla Cruiser? Also I can't remember the effects on base defenses very well, by the time I was attacking buildings most of the Scavengers already picked something up. And if you have a group of 6 with guns/lasers/cannons and 3 show up with their drain beams like "Sup, guys, can I get a sweet new gun too?" and they're like "Nope, killed everything. Have fun with your drain beam, wimp."

Tried out Scavenger today and I got weapons from :

Striker IFV - heavy machine gun (AA as well)

Jaguar Assault Tank - basic anti-tank gun (meh)

Ghost Miner - double barrel anti-tank gun (extremely effective warhead)

Catastrophe - tesla coil (seemed stronger against buildings than Tesla Cruiser in one salvo)

Buratino - incendiary siege gun (good range, but not the best and has "fire" explosion, just like Buratino. Great against structures, defenses and infantry)

Also, tried it against Collosus and all I got was upgraded drain beam.

This is what I see when anyone misspell Fury Drone as Furry Drone

I made a youtube playlist of songs that may have inspired mission names (at least 50% is correct and seen by Speeder himself)

I've only found those:

1 - Heavy MG (drops from light vehicles), decent vs. infantry and air units, has large scatter.
2 - Heavy Cannon (drops from T1 tanks), like a tank cannon but stronger.
3 - Double AT Cannon (drops from miners and T2 AT vehicles like Marauders, Mirages, Trikes etc), packs quite a punch against vehicles.
4 - ARO Launcher (drops from certain random vehicles like Apocalypse, Grumble, Gehenna), fires multiple AROs like Salamander.
5 - Super Drain Beam (drops from big high-tech T3 vehicles like Colossus, Charon, Hailstorm), had no chance to test what exactly it does, maybe kills drivers, but it surely deals more damage than the standard one.

6 - Tesla Coil (drops from Tesla Cruiser, Catastrophe, WormQueen), a coil with short delay between shots.
7 - Incendiary Cannon (drops from Buratino, Borillo, Bomb Buggy/Truck, some other Soviet vehicles), fires invisible flame balls, decent vs. buildings.
8 - Rad Beam (drops from Nuwa, Syckle), similar to Krukov's weapon, leaves radiation where it hits, applies Irradiation to any unit it hits, damages even robots.

9 - Tyrant Cannon (drops from all SC T3 vehicles), nothing too special.

10 - Prism Turret (drops from Prism Tank), nothing too special.
11 - Laser Turret (drops from T3 US vehicles), somewhat similar to Tanya laser, but weaker.

12 - Rail Gun (drops from Mastodon, Tarchia, Megalodon), requires less time to lock on than Mastodon's rail gun.
13 - Confusion Beam (drops from Irritator), pretty much the Deviatress' weapon, but only attacks ground units.

Bump!

I've created a map to answer this question. You can loot any buildable vehicle of all 4 sides and then test the weapons on a team of neutral units which you can summon again and again. As a bonus, you can also destroy stuff for fun with your regular weapons, stolen tech units and some campaign units. Here are some screenshots:

To install: unrar the archive's content into your MO folder, or extract the stringtable03.csf there and put scav.map into Maps\Custom manually. Launch the game, go to Skirmish, search for keywords "test" or "scavenger", set the starting position and play!

That map's really helpful. I'll soon add the info about the Scavenger's stolen weapons to the wiki.
