Use the client Options -> Video -> Render. Tell me the best render that you can use for OBS.

I advise to use Monitor Capture on full screen

I use ts ddraw with minimal lag, running w7
When I record with Obs in monitor capture the fps drops to 9 -14fps

Try testing any render and record so what is the best render to record a video.

It heavy depends on your pc specs, ofc. And resolution. Try capture with "game" option in fullscreen mode.

Go to the Game/Client Crashes & Launch Issues Megathread to report. Please upload the syringe.log for the evidence if needed.

found a workaround, windowed at 1280x720 works and is playable

it is 720p however, does restrict my actual playing

Maybe try monitor capture instead. It's better than recording a game.

(I think my OBS work on my Windows 8 but it does tho) Try display capture instead, it might the fix for Win7 users who had experienced to record a black screen.

Try running OBS as an administrator. If you want to watch your recorded videos, use VLC Media Player other than other media players.

I also run OBS without privileges and worked. There is preview stream button for you to test record. There are many black screen fixes on the internet. Try searching it on Google. Reply if possible.
