Hello everybody

I met a problem during the launch of commandos 2 men of courage and also during the launch of commandos 2 destination paris, I only see a black screen with the famous cursor of commandos that's it, of curse the music of the game stays on but no way to see a damn thing with the black screen but after a while I found the solution what concerns men of courage by someone who posted this :

((The issue I was having is that the game would load, I would hear audio and see the mouse cursor but the screen would remain completely blank, and I would be unable to move the cursor. After trying the -32bit solution and Win XP compatibility mode solutions, I came across one that renamed several of the movie files to something else.

rename the following files in the commandos (commandos directory)\Data\WOFIP directory to something else, I renamed them all to .old:
DATARO.pop to DATARO.pop.old
DATALE00.pop to DATALE00.pop.old
DATAEI.pop to DATAEI.pop.old

Everything finally worked after that. Seems to be some sort of codec issue.
I'm running Windows 7))

But when I installed the mod Commandos 2 Destination Paris the problem has came back, always the black screen :mad2:

Someone could help me to find a solution?

ps: I have  win vista.

Thx a lot.

Trying reinstall media player classic home cinema 32 or 64 bit (following your win7 32 or 64) (I had this problem one time when I reinstalled the game. And It works now. I didn't change the name of any file.)

I used this codec to fix an identical problem with an earlier version of Windows7. Nowadays, keeping the system fully up to date (or at least because of this I guess), I have no issue any more, even without the codec installed. Take a chance.

No chance, I tried your version of indeo and my version which included with the game (Indeo 5.11) but without result.

I remind you that the method I wrote at the top of this page (changing file extensions) allowed me to launch commandos 2 Men of courage with success, maybe I need a different or a same method to run Commandos 2 Destination Paris lol, the game works but it looks like it's a codec problem.

Thx

Yes, It's a codec problem.

I use K lite mega codec pack 12.6.0 and Media player classic home cinema. And I use LAV video, LAV audio parameters when I install them (not use ffshadow ...)

Commandos 2 Destination Paris installs new videos into the WOFIP folder so renaming those as well should solve this issue.

I have already done it, I changed the names then I tried to launch it but unfortunately without hope, then extensions but nothing new, just I start the game a black screen appears with a frozen mouse I can't get the main menu up on my screen.

Try this one: DirectX 8.0 when we install the men of courage (they required) though we already have new DirectX 9, 10 or 11. When I reinstall the game, I till install DirectX 8.0

http://www.mediafire...team videos.zip

Here is WOFIP folder from steam version, the file sizes for every video is different than the original version so maybe they changed the codec. Could try these.
