A report of the use of the banned engineer exploit has been made by the player BionicSeagull against the player gutty333 in respect of a game played on Kane's Wrath today and I have found the report valid.

I must give gutty333 three clear days to explain himself. Original topic on the Kane's Wrath Fair Play Forum can be found here; gutty333 - Engineer Exploit - TS - Explain yourself please!

WARNING: If this report is formally confirmed, it is very likely to result in a suspension from online play. It is recommended that gutty333 post any explanation or mitigation he might have.

Three clear days have elapsed.     Gutty has come here with an explanation but I am afraid that, as I think he realises, that explanation is not exonerating.     The standard penalty for a first offence intentional exploit conviction is a 14 day suspension from C&C:Online.   I will normally lift that suspension after 10 days if the suspended member applies to me and undertakes not effect the exploit again (provided he has not attempted to gain access to C&C:Online using duplicate accounts). As Gutty has already appeared here and explained, I will simply suspend him for 10 days.

Let me make a couple of things clear:

(1)  Under the gamereplays site rules, a first cheat offence conviction carries a mandatory suspension of 28 days from the site.   A second conviction results in a permanent ban and that is the kind of ban where we never show clemency after the passage of time.      We have not applied that rule uniformly in Kane's Wrath.    I do not think that Gutty intended to win the game he was playing by cheating (giving him the benefit of the doubt).   Nonetheless, he did cheat and he is incredibly lucky to have escaped a suspension from the site.  Let me make it clear that, in respect of reports filed after today, we will rigorously be imposing a suspension from the site for any intentional exploit or hack conviction in Kane's Wrath.

(2) The exploit in question here has the potential to ruin Kane's Wrath.     If we have proof that anyone explained or showed anyone else how to effect the exploit either online, on the gamereplays or Revora forums or through any medium connected with those sites or C&C:Online, we will punish them as if they had effected the exploit themselves.    We will consider so punishing players that demonstrate or explain the exploit via any media (whether or not so connected) if they do that with a view to it being effected on C&C:Online.

gutty suspended from C&C:Online until after 16 February 2017
