Please help me... I'm working on commandos HD Project, and I ask your help to solve this little problem.

In commandos BEL is it possible to delete an entry from menu? For example "HELP" entry.

How can I do? Maybe could I change the exe file with a hex editor? Thanks.

...is the menu hard coded into the exe?! As long i remember tinkering with the WARGAME.dir years back (like 2009-2010), menus text is separated in pictures than conventional rows of text. Could be wrong with the game, I know little to no things about BEL file structure, mostly experimented on Comm2.

There is a txt file that contains the menu entries but, if I delete an entry in the menu appears "catena disconocida". There must be a way to totally remove menu entries.

If so, sucks really. I will see if I can bypass the situation after I have the game environment to look into it whenever I can the next weekend. At this point, I cant promise a thing, but hey, confidence makes progress.

Back with a short report I decided to do. After what turns to be harder than I thought so, the game reads menu parameters from the comandos.exe really, as you claimed. Sorry I mistook the BEL filesystem for comm2 GRL files, I correct myself.

 

 

I tried to trace down the file it executes for the text into the exe with a Hex editor in the morning, without certain success. :@ Let's have a ray of hope someone who has good knowledge of reverse engineering can take it apart.

I'm trying to change the exe file with a hex editor. I hope to succeed but if someone with more experience can do it there would be a milestone.
