Bringing back old stolen tech units

Before I start talking I will say that I am not asking for the old stolen tech units to be brought back as a feature in-game by the developers, no not like that, I know they won't return. (Except cyborg prototype, that one is campaign only)

 

So, is there a way to bring back old stolen tech units to the game? Like messing with a .ini file or something I don't know.

 

Because my favourite units were the Hoplites, Reapers and Cyborg prototypes, and it would be a shame if they cannot be returned into the game.

Some of them might be included in the campaign as one-off units based on the episode, I suppose, but to add them manually into the 3.3 and tweaking the rules file, I don't know.

For instance, you can expect Cyborg prototype in upcoming campaign missions I guess (look at the description of giantsbane for a possible hint) though I am not a tester nor a developer so nothing is for sure.

I think Speeder said once that the Cyborg Prototype is going to appear in a mission.

And Hoplites have also transformed into "Prism Hoplites" that seem to be campaign units as well.

They seem to be useless, They cannot attack they simply deploy.

 

And when they deploy nothing happens.

On the subject of Hoplites... I thought about it several times, but isn't there a resemblance between them and the Lancers?

Both are soldiers wounded beyond medication and are as such turned into Cyborgs.

 

Except that Hoplites were completely broken and putting 4 in a battle fortress would turn it into an anti-everything monster.

I wonder, will one of the Foehn Origin missons involve securing both cyborgs models to make sure they get the better possible weapons against Epsilon?

If that's the case, you probably didn't remove the semicolons in front of the infantry's weapons in the rules file, which prevented them to be used, as they are WIPs.

But they were completely changed, I liked the debuff and sprite of the old one, but I like that they kept the voice over.

Eh - I don't see how a damage nullifier is better than a damage-to-heal switcher. The old artwork was low quality.

The old artwork was low quality, I agree with you, but the concept of the vehicle is kinda cool.

 

And it wasn't a damage nullifier it was a complete debuff, I just don't like the current one because it requires some micro-management to use it in complete effectiveness, you know like telling it to attack a Nuwa cannon rather than attacking a conscript.

My suggestion how to bring back old stolen tech back: make stolen infantry a thing only in case a player infiltrates lab of the same faction. Basically reverse the situation of 3.0, where players were getting stolen vehicles only in case they infiltrate lab of the same faction (Soviets, Epsilon and Allies). Cyborg prototype can come back as a Soviet vs Soviet stolen infantry again, Reaper can come back as an Epsilon vs Epsilon stolen unit and Cryo Commando can be Allies vs Allies unit again. For Foehn vs Foehn a new stolen infantry must be done in this case.

 

It would be perfect for me if Chrono Ivan, Hoplite Voltmortar and Chrono Adept will be brought back too, but most likely it's not happening, so I suggested this.
