[Paintballs]

Hello, I tried to open up RA3 to go online through the launcher. And for some reason, the opening card thing for Red Alert 3 appeared, then closed without launching the actual game itself.

Couldn't be a compatibility error as my game launches properly on steam, so any help?

Hi, your issue & its solution has been described in the pinned thread "Common Issues & Solutions".

If you are using Steam version of RA3, you shouldn't start the game directly from the launcher.

You need to hook the game first (Launcher's menu bar → Hook → Red Alert 3, then start your game from Steam (or from a Desktop shortcut).

Then a C&C:Online launcher will automatically appear (instead of your game), then you click the RA3 button in this launcher to start the game.

Please could you try that and if you have problems, post your error log (see How to Report Issues). We can't help much without that.

Alright, tried to hook the desktop shortcut created via running as admin on Steam, and I get this error when I select the RA3 tab on the launcher.

Additionally, the shortcut doesn't launch the game but I expect it's to do with the errors in the log

Can you try to turn your Antivirs off and try to reinstall the game?

Also, if you add " -ui" (without quotes) as the game's command-line arguments, inside startup options, game properties, when you launch the game from the automatically-popped-up-launcher, will you see the game's control center?

Update: Nope, nothing happens after reinstalling the game through after turning the antivirus software, additionally the log message is the same

Also adding the -ui argument did nothing to the startup, no control center appeared

So, the launcher appeared automatically when you are trying to start the game, but when you press "Red Alert 3" button on the launcher, nothing happens?

Yeah, nothing happens, only way to launch it is through the Play button on Steam. Desktop shortcuts ain't working either

When you click the Play button on Steam, will a C&C:Online be launched?

Tried it a couple times, the game opens but without the C&C online launcher.

If you hit the "Play" button and the C&C:Online launcher doesn't appear automatically, then I think you need to re-hook your game.

Click "Red Alert 3" in the hook menu, the tick should disappear (unhooked), and you re-hook it again.
