Before I spend an hour downloading this Half Life mod i'd like to ask if anyone plays/has played it and is it any good?

It went retail, so it's sale quality.

its definately a great game... for some reason, its the only game I can play where it seems like the SMG I'm firing is actually firing bullets and hitting someone... games like bf1942 and cs always seem like "if i click this button, people die"... but DoD gives me the impression its an actual firing gun... i dont know, its wierd, but I do indeed like this... worth the d/l

I love dod its my all out favorite HL mod!!!

hell if I didn't have to get my mod ready for saturday I'd be playing dod right friggen now! Although I really hate steam and it makes playing on a 56k that much laggier *sigh*... although I still have v1.0 on my hard-drive so I play against bots off-line when I have the chance... I play cs every now and then with my friends, really dod is... is... is... DOD there ain't much better than that!

I wanna play really really bad right now... maby I will when I finish going throught the forums and making updates to CnC Central...

Steam works fine for me with supported mods. Mods like Natural Selection or Sven Co-op lag like hell though.

I say forget steam... my ping was at its lowest yesterday of 1250!!!! that is friggen crazy... then I said out loud "FORGET STEAM" and loged onto gamespy and had my highest lag being 450!

So "FORGET STEAM" and just play gamespy its the only way... If we boycott steam maby they will cancel it and let us have won.com back *just a happy thought*

I have no idea what you are on about, I just load the game (Mod, not retail) and click play.

normal: I just click an a desk-short and it goes stright into my favorate server.

steam: I have to load Steam, click lanch 3rd party mod, find a server, then can't play becuase of the lag.

I just play on the normal WONID servers till thay fix the lag.
